Susan Frances Harmar Nicholls (born 23 November 1943) is an English actress, known for her roles on British television in ''Crossroads'' (1964–1968), ''The Fall and Rise of Reginald Perrin'' (1976–1979) and, ''Rentaghost'' (1981–1984), and especially for her long-running part as Audrey Roberts in the soap opera ''Coronation Street'' (1979–1982, 1984–present). Edward Albert Nicholls (born 10 December 1947 in British Guiana) is a former international Test and One Day International cricket umpire. Nicholls officiated in 17 Tests from 1997 to 2001 and 46 ODIs from 1995 to 2005. He was one of four West Indian umpires on the International Cricket Council's elite panel of international umpires. Eddie Nichols is a former police officer who worked in the Immigration Services of the Guyana Police Force. Nicholls played club cricket for the Guyanese police force cricket team. Bernard Irvine Nicholls (born June 24, 1961) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey centre, who played over 1000 games in the National Hockey League (NHL). His junior career was spent with the Kingston Canadians, where he established himself as a dynamic scorer and a multi-faceted talent. He was selected by the Los Angeles Kings in the fourth round of the 1980 NHL Entry Draft, 73rd overall. Over his 17-year playing career, Nicholls played 1,127 games for the Los Angeles Kings, New York Rangers, Edmonton Oilers, New Jersey Devils, Chicago Blackhawks and San Jose Sharks, scoring 1,209 points. Benjamin Ernest Nicholls (4 October 1864 – 6 June 1945) was an English cricketer active in the 1880s and briefly in 1901, making sixteen appearances in first-class cricket. Nicholls was a right-handed batsman and right-arm slow bowler, who played first-class cricket for Sussex, Oxford University, and the Marylebone Cricket Club. Career and life The son of Henry Nicholls, he was born at Byfleet, Surrey, and was educated at Winchester College and Magdalen College, Oxford. Nicholls made his first-class debut for Sussex against Nottinghamshire in 1883 at Trent Bridge, with him making a further appearance for the county in that season against Derbyshire. Ashley Joseph Nicholls (born 30 October 1981) is an English footballer who plays for Maidenhead United. Career Nicholls was born in Ipswich and started his football career in the youth scheme of his home football club, Ipswich Town. In the spring of 2002, while in the youth scheme, he was loaned to Canvey Island where he played two games and scored one goal. He was not offered a professional contract by Ipswich, so in the summer of 2002 he joined Darlington on a free transfer and stayed there for two seasons, playing 76 matches and scoring seven goals. Alex Nicholls (born 9 December 1987) is an English former professional footballer who played as both a midfielder and a striker. He has previously played for Walsall, Burton Albion, Northampton Town, Exeter City, Barnet, Dundee United, Crewe Alexandra and Solihull Moors. Playing career Walsall After impressing in reserve and youth team games, Nicholls broke into Walsall's first team in the 2005–06 season, making his debut in December 2005 in a FA Cup clash with Yeovil Town. Samuel Robert Nicholls (15 May 1885 – 26 September 1939) was an Australian politician. He was an Australian Labor Party member of the Australian House of Representatives from 1917 to 1922, representing the electorate of Macquarie. Born in Mudgee, New South Wales, he was educated at public schools and became a clerk and cement worker. He was a trade unionist in the cement works at Portland for several years, serving as president of the Portland branch of the United Labourers Protective Society from 1910 and secretary of the Portland Cement Workers' Union from 1912. In 1917, he defeated Ernest Carr, a Labor turned Nationalist MP, to win the Australian House of Representatives seat of Macquarie for Labor by nine votes. Patrick Charles Martyn Nicholls (born 14 December 1948) is a British solicitor and politician who served as a Conservative MP for Teignbridge between 1983 and 2001. A solicitor by profession and formerly an East Devon District Councillor, Nicholls was first elected to the House of Commons in 1983 at the age of 34, winning a comfortable majority over the nationally known Liberal Party candidate, John Alderson, who had resigned as Chief Constable of Devon & Cornwall specifically to contest the seat. Jamie Nicholls (born October 15, 1971) is a Canadian social democrat and politician. He was a New Democratic Party Member of Parliament from 2011 to 2015 and was later the mayor of Hudson, Quebec. Born in Montreal and raised in Hudson, Nicholls attended both St-Thomas elementary and Hudson High School.
