Nicholas W. Orloff
Nicholas W. Orloff (1890s-1961) was a son of Prince Vladimir Nikolayevich Orlov, a Russian immigrant to the United States and an agent of the New York NKVD rezidentura during World War II. According to historian John Earl Haynes and Harvey Klehr's analysis of the Venona Cables The Venona project was a United States counterintelligence program initiated during World War II by the United States Army's Signal Intelligence Service (later absorbed by the National Security Agency), which ran from February 1, 1943, until Octob ..., Orloff received a regular stipend from the KGB for his services, reporting information on immigrant groups to Soviet intelligence and acting as a talent-spotter for new sources.
