Nicholas Rush
Dr. Nicholas Rush is a fictional character in the 2010 Canadian-American Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer-Syfy television series ''Stargate Universe'', a military science fiction serial drama about the adventures of a present-day, multinational exploration team unable to return to Earth after an evacuation to the Ancient spaceship ''Destiny'', which is traveling in a distant corner of the universe. He is portrayed by Scottish actor Robert Carlyle. Carlyle, while at first skeptical towards the show, got an interest in the character of Rush because he felt Rush was a "very interesting" character to portray. Rush is a Machiavellian scientist whose life's work is uncovering the mysteries behind the ninth chevron of the Stargate, which ultimately leads him and personnel from the Icarus Base through the Stargate to a far-away galaxy where they must fight for their own survival. Air (Stargate Universe)
"Air" is the three-part opening episode of the military science fiction television series ''Stargate Universe''. The first two parts aired on Syfy in the United States on October 2, 2009, while the third part aired on October 9. In Canada, SPACE aired the first two in tandem with Syfy. Sky1 broadcast the first two parts on October 6, and the third on October 13, whilst Sci Fi Australia aired the two-parter on October 9, and the third part on October 16. "Air" was written by series creators Robert C. Cooper and Brad Wright, and was directed by Andy Mikita. In the episode a group of evacuees from Icarus Base, an offworld human outpost that fell under attack end up on the ''Destiny'', an Ancient starship located several billion light-years from Earth. Carl Binder (born August 10, 1960) is a Canadian television writer and producer. He is most noted for his contributions to the ''Stargate SG-1'' and ''Stargate Atlantis'' series as well as ''Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman'' and ''Little Men''. Andy Mikita is a Canadian television director and producer. He has worked in the TV and film industry for over 30 years. Mikita is best known for his work as a director and producer for ''Stargate SG-1'', and its sister shows ''Stargate Atlantis'' and ''Stargate Universe''. Career Andy Mikita began his television career on the 1987 series ''21 Jump Street'' where he worked as a second assistant director.
