Nicholas Cozat Marquis Jacobs (born October 13, 1991) is a former American football tight end. He was signed as an undrafted free agent by the New Orleans Saints after the 2014 NFL Draft. He played college football at McNeese State, after transferring from Louisiana State. Professional career New Orleans Saints Following the 2014 NFL Draft, Jacobs was signed by the New Orleans Saints as an undrafted free agent. He was signed to their practice squad on September 1, 2014. Jacksonville Jaguars On September 23, 2014, Jacobs was signed to the Jacksonville Jaguars 53-man roster. Tight End
The tight end (TE) is a position in American football, arena football, and Canadian football, on the offense. The tight end is often a hybrid position with the characteristics and roles of both an offensive lineman and a wide receiver. Like offensive linemen, they are usually lined up on the offensive line and are large enough to be effective blockers. On the other hand, unlike offensive linemen, they are eligible receivers adept enough to warrant a defense's attention when running pass patterns. Because of the hybrid nature of the position, the tight end's role in any given offense depends on the tactical preferences and philosophy of the head coach as well as overall team dynamic. In some systems, the tight end will merely act as a sixth offensive lineman, rarely going out for passes. McNeese State University is a public university in Lake Charles, Louisiana.
