Niamh Fisher-Black
Niamh Fisher-Black (born 12 August 2000) is a New Zealand professional racing cyclist, who currently rides for UCI Women's WorldTeam . She is the older sister of fellow racing cyclist Finn Fisher-Black, and was educated at Nelson College for Girls. Career 2022 Fisher-Black paid her own way to the 2022 road cycling world championships in Wollongong, Australia as Cycling New Zealand could not afford to meet the costs due to due "a lack of government funding and the loss of key sponsors". In the 164 km road race, she was the first placed under-23 rider and 12th overall. She became the first under-23 world women's champion. Gravel And Tar
The Gravel and Tar Classic is a one-day cycling race, held annually in the Manawatu region of New Zealand, since 2016, finishing in Palmerston North. It is rated 1.2 and has been part of UCI Oceania Tour since 2018. The race is primarily on sealed roads, however the highlight of the race is the multiple gravel sectors (usually 5 or 6) throughout the course. The race is now considered to be the toughest one-day elite race in the Oceania region. The race is held in January each year, making it one of the first races on the UCI Calendar, and a key chance for teams and riders to gain early UCI points. The event has seen teams enter from countries such as Sweden, Japan, the US, and Australia, along with the best New Zealand men's trade teams. Palmerston North was the starting location of the race for its first three years, before the race start moved to its current location in Feilding in 2019. The 2023 Liège–Bastogne–Liège Femmes was a Belgian road cycling one-day race that took place on 23 April 2022. It was the 7th edition of Liège–Bastogne–Liège Femmes and the 14th event of the 2023 UCI Women's World Tour. The 2022 Itzulia Women was a women's cycle stage race that was held in the Basque Country from 13 to 15 May 2022. The 2022 edition of the race was the first running of the Itzulia Women, being held as part of the UCI Women's World Tour. The 2021 Giro d'Italia Donne (commonly known as the Giro Rosa) was the 32nd edition of the Giro d'Italia Femminile women's road cycling stage race. The race started on 2 July and finished on 9 July and, as the longest and one of the most prestigious races on the women's calendar, included ten stages covering over across northern Italy. After the COVID-19 pandemic pushed the 2020 edition back to September, the 2021 edition saw the Giro Rosa return to its usual July timeslot. Despite that, the UCI demoted the race from the UCI Women's World Tour after the 2020 season, with the move being attributed to race organizers failing to provide the minimum of 45 minutes of live television coverage required for all top-tier Women's WorldTour races.
