Niall Ó Brolcháin
Niall Ó Brolcháin (; born 14 April 1965) is an Irish former Green Party politician who served as a Senator for the Agricultural Panel from December 2009 to April 2011. He served as Mayor of Galway from 2006 to 2007. Galway City Council He was elected in June 2004 with 10.93% (881 votes) of the vote. His victory was one of the closest of the elections, beating Fianna Fáil's Tom Cox by 40 votes. He worked on various campaigns ranging from Quality Bus Corridors to better sewage treatment and waste management facilities. He has worked on many local committees including the city's Economic Development Group and Environment Strategic Policy Committee, and became Galway's first Green Party Mayor in June 2006. Seanad Éireann
Seanad Éireann (, ; "Senate of Ireland") is the upper house of the Oireachtas (the Irish legislature), which also comprises the President of Ireland and Dáil Éireann (the lower house). It is commonly called the Seanad or Senate and its members senators (''seanadóirí'' in Irish, singular: ''seanadóir''). Unlike Dáil Éireann, it is not directly elected but consists of a mixture of members chosen by various methods. This is a list of the members of the 23rd Seanad Éireann, the upper house of the Oireachtas (legislature) of Ireland. These Senators were elected from 24 July 2007 onwards after postal voting closed. The Taoiseach's nominees were announced on 3 August 2007. The Seanad election took place after the 2007 general election for the Dáil. The office of Mayor of Galway is an honorific title used by the of Galway City Council. The council has jurisdiction throughout its administrative area of the city of Galway which is the largest city in the province of Connacht, in Ireland. The current mayor is Clodagh Higgins, ( FG). The Digital Enterprise Research Institute (DERI) is a former research institute at NUI Galway. It is now part of the Insight Centre for Data Analytics. Insight was established in 2013 by Science Foundation Ireland with funding of €75m. DERI's focus is research into the Semantic Web and linked data. It was originally established as a ''Centre for Science, Engineering and Technology (CSET)'' in 2003 with funding from Science Foundation Ireland.
