Neō Wax Bloom
''Neō Wax Bloom'' is the debut studio album by English electronic musician Seamus Malliagh under his recording alias Iglooghost, released on 29 September 2017 on Brainfeeder. Characterised by complex and energetic song structures, ''Neō Wax Bloom'' is a maximalist album which "dismantle any notion of genre before putting the pieces back together in tsown unique way". The album peaked at number nine on ''Billboard''s American Dance/Electronic Album Sales chart, and received generally positive critical reception upon initial release. Background Malliagh had wanted to create a full-length studio album since the beginning of his career using the recording alias Iglooghost, but said that he felt he needed to "find a reason to justify making one"; getting to the "eureka moment" of making an album involved "years and years of tantrums and smashing up my stuff in fits of rage". Iglooghost
Seamus Rawles Malliagh, known by his recording alias Iglooghost, is an Irish-born English musician, producer and songwriter based in London. Career Malliagh released a cassette in 2014 titled ''Treetunnels'' on Error Broadcast. In 2015, he released his second EP titled ''Chinese Nü Yr'' on Brainfeeder. He also released in that same year a collaborative EP with Mr. Yote titled ''Milk Empire'' through Activia Benz. In March 2016, he released his third EP titled ''Little Grids'', again on Brainfeeder, and in September 2017 he released his album ''Neō Wax Bloom'', also on Brainfeeder. On February 4, 2021 Iglooghost announced the oncoming release of his fourth album, ''Lei Line Eon'', which was released on 2 April alongside the release of the album's lead single, "Sylph Fossil". Reason Studios (formerly known as Propellerhead Software) is a music software company, based in Stockholm, Sweden, and founded in 1994. It produces the studio emulation Reason. Footwork (genre)
Footwork, also called juke, footwork/juke or Chicago juke, is a genre of electronic music derived from ghetto house with elements of hip hop, first appearing in Chicago in the late 1990s. The music style evolved from the earlier, rapid rhythms of ghetto house, a change pioneered by RP Boo. It may draw from the rapid rhythms and sub-bass frequencies of drum & bass. Tracks also frequently feature heavily syncopated samples from rap, pop and other sources, and are often around 160 bpm. Footwork is also a style of house dance, closely associated with juke music, and typified by very fast and chaotic feet moves. Etymology The name "footwork" given to the genre refers to the footwork dance that accompanies it and is characterized by very fast structured footwork (dance). Stephen Michael Reich ( ; born October 3, 1936) is an American composer known for his contribution to the development of minimal music in the mid to late 1960s. Reich's work is marked by its use of repetitive figures, slow harmonic rhythm, and canons. Reich describes this concept in his essay, "Music as a Gradual Process", by stating, "I am interested in perceptible processes. I want to be able to hear the process happening throughout the sounding music." To do so, his music employs the technique of phase shifting, in which a phrase is slightly altered over time, in a flow that is clearly perceptible to the listener.
