''Nextwave'' is a humorous comic book series by Warren Ellis and Stuart Immonen, published by Marvel Comics between 2006 and 2007. ''Nextwave'' consistently features extreme violence and comedy, and simultaneously satirizes and celebrates Marvel's superhero comics. The series frequently uses flashback scenes in which existing Marvel characters such as Captain America, Ulysses Bloodstone and the Celestials act grossly out of character for comedic purposes. In an interview, Ellis said: "I took '' The Authority'' and I stripped out all the plots, logic, character and sanity. It's an absolute distillation of the superhero genre. Machine Man
Machine Man (also known as Aaron Stack, Mister Machine and serial number Z2P45-9-X-51 or X-51 for short) is an android superhero appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. The character was created by Jack Kirby for '' 2001: A Space Odyssey'' #8 (July 1977), a comic written and drawn by Kirby featuring concepts based on the eponymous 1968 Stanley Kubrick feature film and Arthur C. Clarke's 1968 novel. Shortly thereafter, Machine Man spun off into his own Kirby-created series. Elsa Bloodstone
Elsa Bloodstone is a fictional character appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. She first appears in Marvel's ''Bloodstone'' mini-series of 2001 written by Dan Abnett and Andy Lanning. The Mindless Ones are fictional monsters appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. Their first appearance was in ''Strange Tales'' #127 (Dec. 1964). They are extra-dimensional creatures summoned via magic to do the bidding of others (they have no will of their own). Warren Girard Ellis (born 16 February 1968) is a British comic book writer, novelist, and screenwriter. Stuart Immonen () is a Canadians, Canadian comics artist.
