Newroz Sport Club ( ar, نادي نوروز الرياضي), is an Iraqi football team based in Sulaymaniyah, that plays in Iraqi Premier League. History 2019–20 season In the 2019 season, the Kurdistan Football Association announced the cancellation of the Kurdistan Premier League due to the COVID-19 pandemic. They considered Newroz to be the league champion for this season, because they were at the top of the league standings until that time, where they played 15 matches, won 7, drew 5 and lost 3 matches, and collected 26 points. 2020–21 season Newroz participated in the Iraq Division One in the 2020–21 season, and two rounds before the end of the league, the team managed to maintain the top of the Group 1, and remained at the top of this group until the end of the league, where it qualified for the Iraqi Premier League for the first time, after collecting 30 points from 9 wins and 3 draw and one loss. Sulaymaniyah Stadium
Sulaymaniyah Stadium, is a multi-use stadium in Sulaimaniyah, Kurdistan Region, Iraq It is currently used mostly for football matches and serves as the home stadium of Sulaymaniyah FC. In 2017, Sulaymaniyah Stadium became the first stadium in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq to be internationally recognized by the Asian Football Confederation. One of the major stadiums in the Kurdistan Region, it has hosted a number of pro-independence rallies since 2017. 2020–21 Iraq Division One
The 2020–21 Iraq Division One was the 47th season of the Iraq Division One, the second tier of the Iraqi football league system since its establishment in 1974. The number of clubs in the league have changed throughout history due to several factors, most recently in this season when the number of clubs increased from 12 to 28 in total. The top team from each group is directly promoted to the Premier League, while a third club can be promoted through play-offs, on the other hand, two clubs from each group are directly relegated to the Division Two. Al-Sinaa won the title and were promoted alongside runners-up Newroz. Format Teams from all over Iraq participated in preliminary qualifications for the final stage. Al-Kahrabaa Sports Club ( ar, نادي الكهرباء الرياضي, lit=Electricity Club) is an Iraqi professional football club based in the Rusafa District, near the Tigris river, Baghdad, that plays in Iraqi Premier League.
