Steve Lowndes
Stephen Robert Lowndes (born 17 June 1960) is a former Wales international footballer. Lowndes started his career at Newport County during the most successful period in the club's long history. Lowndes was part of the team that won promotion from the old Division 4 and the Welsh Cup and in the subsequent season reached the quarter-final of the 1981 European Cup Winners' Cup. Charlie Henry (footballer, Born 1986)
Charles Henry (born 28 September 1986) is an English former footballer. A winger, he is known for his rapid speed, nimble feet and trademark 'double somersault' goal celebrations. He has also represented the England C national football team as a midfielder. Having played for many different clubs Henry may be considered a journeyman. Club career Early career Born in Stevenage, Hertfordshire, Henry began his career with Luton Town as a youngster, but was released at the age of 15, being told by then Luton youth coach Dean Rastrick that he was "too small". Lee Evans (footballer)
Lee Evans (born 24 July 1994) is a Welsh professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for League One club Ipswich Town and the Wales national football team. Evans started his senior career at hometown club Newport County, having previously spent time in the youth systems at Bristol Rovers and Malpas FC. He made his debut for Newport in March 2012 at the age of 17. During his time at Newport, he helped the club to the 2012 FA Trophy Final and promotion to the Football League through the Conference Premier play-offs in 2013. He joined Wolverhampton Wanderers in 2013, making his Football League debut in August 2013. He helped Wolves to win the League One title during his first season at the club in 2013–14. Paul Bignot
Paul Junior Bignot (born 14 February 1986) is an English former professional footballer who played as a defender. He played in the Football League with Crewe Alexandra, Blackpool, Plymouth Argyle and Grimsby Town and Newport County, and in Non-league football with Kidderminster Harriers, Solihull Moors, Barrow and AFC Telford United. Nick Townsend
Nicholas Peter Townsend (born 1 November 1994) is a professional footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for club Newport County. Born in England, he represents the Antigua and Barbuda national team. Townsend began his career with Birmingham City, but never appeared for their first team. He spent time on loan with Conference North club Oxford City and Lincoln City of the Conference Premier before joining Championship club Barnsley, initially on loan, in 2015. Luke David Gambin (born 16 March 1993) is a professional footballer who plays as a winger for EFL League Two club Sutton United. Born in England, he represents the Malta national team. Joshua Luke Sheehan (born 30 March 1995) is a Welsh professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for League One club Bolton Wanderers and the Wales national team. Club career Swansea City Sheehan joined Swansea City academy at the age of 10. On 2 November 2012, he signed a professional contract with the club until the summer of 2015. In April 2014, Sheehan signed a new contract at Swansea until the summer of 2016. Keanu Marsh-Brown
Keanu Marqheal Marsh-Brown (born 10 August 1992) is a professional footballer who plays as a winger for Jaro. He began his professional career with Fulham in the Premier League but failed to make a first team appearance, spending time on loan with Milton Keynes Dons and Dundee United before signing a permanent contract with Oldham Athletic and later Yeovil Town and Barnet. Nigel Vaughan
Nigel Mark Vaughan (born 20 May 1959 in Caerleon) is a Welsh former professional footballer and Wales international. He gained ten international caps during his football career. Club career Newport County Vaughan started his playing career at his local professional side Newport County making 224 appearances and scoring 32 goals for the club. After leaving Caerleon Comprehensive School in 1975 he made his Football league debut against Rochdale as a left back at the age of 17 by manager Jimmy Scoular. The following week he played against Bournemouth FC in the FA Cup – both games finished goalless. Alf Sherwood
Alfred Thomas Sherwood (13 November 1923 – 12 March 1990) was a Welsh international footballer. Between 1947 and 1957, he gained a total of 41 caps, the first on his 23rd birthday, against England in 1946. Known as the King of the sliding tacklers, Sherwood was an ex-miner who threw his all into the game especially when facing the England forward, Stanley Matthews, who described him as ''"the most difficult opponent he ever played against"''.
