Newhall is a suburban settlement located in Swadlincote, South Derbyshire, England. As of the 2011 census it had a population of 776. The village of Stanton is nearby. Newhall village A commuter settlement between Swadlincote and Burton upon Trent the village lies between the A444 road, A444 to its south and the A511 road, A511 to its north. To its east is the market town of Ashby-de-la-Zouch, very close to the M42 motorway, M42 linking Nottingham (NE) and Birmingham (SW). Burton upon Trent is to the west with the A38 road, A38 heading south to Lichfield and north for Derby and the M1 motorway (England), M1. Slightly further north is the A50 road, A50 linking the Stoke-on-Trent and the M6 motorway (east) one way and the M1 and Leicestershire (west) the other. William Allitt Academy
William Allitt Academy (formerly William Allitt School) is a co-educational secondary school located in the village of Newhall, Swadlincote in South Derbyshire, England. The school was founded in 1895 as the Newhall Central Board School, when the Newhall Oversetts and Newhall High Street Board Schools were merged. In 1914, the school was split into separate boys' and girls' schools, but these recombined in 1939. Due to subsidence from mining, it relocated to a new site in 1959, and was renamed after local councillor William Allitt. In 1966, it became a comprehensive school. Previously a community school administered by Derbyshire County Council, in September 2022 William Allitt School converted to academy status and was renamed The William Allitt Academy. Appleby Magna is a village and civil parish in Leicestershire, England. It includes the small hamlets of Appleby Parva and Little Wigston. The parish has a total collective population of 1,084 (2011) spread across 500 properties (2020), with Appleby Magna its largest settlement. Rodsley
Rodsley is a small village and civil parish about south of Ashbourne in Derbyshire. As the population of the village was less than 100 at the 2011 Census, details are included in the civil parish of Yeaveley. History Nearby Hollington and Rodsley (then spelt ''Redeslei'' or ''Redlesleie'') are included as manors in the 1086 Domesday Survey as belonging to Henry de Ferrers, who was given a large number of manors in Derbyshire.
