Route 362, also known as Belleoram Road, is a north-south highway on the Connaigre Peninsula of the island of Newfoundland. It connects the communities along the western side of Fortune Bay with Route 360 (Bay d'Espoir Highway). Route description Route 362 begins at an intersection with Route 360 several kilometres northwest of Pool's Cove. It heads south through very hilly and rural terrain for over 20 kilometres, where it has an intersection with a local road leading into the town. The highway then enters the town of St. Jacques-Coomb's Cove and comes to an intersection with Route 363 (Coomb's Cove Road) just northeast of English Harbour West. The highway now winds its way east to pass through St. Jacques before turning north to leave town and wind its way along the coastline. Belleoram () is a village on the shores of Fortune Bay in the Canadian province of Newfoundland and Labrador. The community sits on a narrow strip of land hemmed in between the bay and steep hills that rise behind it. Belleoram has a large harbour and shelter from the sea, with the protection of a natural breakwater. History Belleoram, a fishing community, had a fish plant which closed in 1989. Aquaculture and fish farming are important economic drivers. Belleoram dates back to 1774. The French used the area and called it "Bande de Laurier." The Connaigre Peninsula is a Canadian peninsula located on the south coast of the island of Newfoundland in the province of Newfoundland and Labrador. Harbour Breton is the largest population centre on the peninsula. Route 360, also known as Bay d'Espoir Highway, is a provincial highway in Newfoundland and Labrador. It runs from the Bishop's Falls area to Bay d'Espoir and Harbour Breton. The road is very isolated for at least , where there are no communities or stops to refuel. Rencontre East, Newfoundland And Labrador
Rencontre East is a small, outport community in Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada located north east of Belleoram, and west of Terrenceville in Fortune Bay. The population was 115 in the 2021 census. This small community is not connected to any surrounding areas by road but is accessible by scheduled ferry service from ports in Pool's Cove and Bay L'Argent. All of the roads are dirt and ATVs are the main source of transportation. The community uses breakwaters to hold the roads in place and keep the water from washing them away. The main industry is cod and lobster fishing. Rencontre East was the location of one of only a few molybdenum mines in Canada's history. The mine was located at Ackley City at Rencontre Lake just north of the town. The mine was closed soon after, with only two-thousand tonnes of mineral being exported.
