Route 210, also known as the Burin Peninsula Highway and Heritage Run, is a highway that extends through the Burin Peninsula from Goobies to Grand Bank, Newfoundland and Labrador. The maximum speed limit is 90 km/h except through communities and settlements where the speed limit is reduced to 50 km/h. Just after exiting Swift Current, until a few kilometres north of Marystown, much of the landscape is barren, with very few trees prevalent. After entering Marystown, motorists approach a junction where they could turn right to continue their journey on Route 210 until arriving at Grand Bank, or going straight onto Route 220 towards Burin and St. Lawrence. Red Harbour is a Canadian municipality of Newfoundland and Labrador. It is located 20 kilometres northeast of Marystown. Settlement Red Harbour was inhabited from the early 19th century until the early 1960s when the half dozen families living there abandoned the community under the resettlement program. The present town was created when residents from Port Elizabeth (Flat Islands) convinced the provincial government to relocate them to Red Harbour during the resettlement program of the 1960s. South East Bight, Newfoundland And Labrador
South East Bight (SEB) or Southeast Bight is a local service district and designated place in the Canadian province of Newfoundland and Labrador. It is on the western shore of Placentia Bay on the Burin Peninsula. The community is not connected by road and is only accessible by ferry from Petite Forte. Many people from the community travel to Monkstown in the winter by snowmobile, but is very uncommon to try to get there in the summer, because of marsh, bogs, ponds and hills. To get to South East Bight one must travel towards Marystown on the Burin Peninsula, turn off the highway at Boat Harbour, travel to Petite Forte and then take a half-hour ferry ride to South East Bight. Rencontre East, Newfoundland And Labrador
Rencontre East is a small, outport community in Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada located north east of Belleoram, and west of Terrenceville in Fortune Bay. The population was 115 in the 2021 census. This small community is not connected to any surrounding areas by road but is accessible by scheduled ferry service from ports in Pool's Cove and Bay L'Argent. All of the roads are dirt and ATVs are the main source of transportation. The community uses breakwaters to hold the roads in place and keep the water from washing them away. The main industry is cod and lobster fishing. Rencontre East was the location of one of only a few molybdenum mines in Canada's history. The mine was located at Ackley City at Rencontre Lake just north of the town. The mine was closed soon after, with only two-thousand tonnes of mineral being exported. Route 215, also known as Petit Forte Road, is a east–west highway on the Burin Peninsula of the island of Newfoundland in the province of Newfoundland and Labrador. It connects the towns of Boat Harbour, Brookside, and Petit Forte with Route 210 (Heritage Run/Burin Peninsula Highway). Route description Route 215 begins just west of Boat Harbour at an intersection with Route 210 and heads east to immediately pass through the community. It now becomes very curvy and winding as it travels along the coastline through some hills to pass through Brookside before turning inland through remote terrain for several kilometres. The highway now dips to the south to follow the coast again as it enters Petite Forte and passes by a dock for a ferry leading to South East Bight. Route 215 passes through neighbourhoods before coming to an end shortly thereafter at the centre of town.
