Newberry College is a private Lutheran college in Newberry, South Carolina. It has 1,250 students. Accreditation Newberry College is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) to award bachelor's degrees. Kelly Anundson (born August 29, 1984) is an American mixed martial artist. A professional competitor since 2010, Anundson has previously competed for Bellator, and was also a contestant on The Ultimate Fighter 19. James Haskell Hope
James Haskell Hope (September 22, 1874 – January 18, 1952) was the longest-serving Superintendent of Education in the state of South Carolina, from 1922 until 1945. Friends called him "Bud." In 1925, Hope and his siblings J.J. Hope and Mary Hope Hipp paid for and donated of land to the Rosenwald Fund. This became the Hope Rosenwald School. James Hope is known for his defending of the rights of African Americans before and during his term in office. James Butler Hare
James Butler Hare, (September 4, 1918 – July 16, 1966) was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives for South Carolina's 3rd congressional district. He served for one term from 1949 to 1951. Biography He was born in Saluda, South Carolina on September 4, 1918. He was the son of Butler B. Hare, who had also represented this district from 1939 to 1947. He attended the public schools, graduated from Newberry College in 1939, and did postgraduate work at Erskine College in Due West, South Carolina. John Mark Hammond (born November 29, 1963) is an American Republican politician from South Carolina. He has served as South Carolina Secretary of State since January 15, 2003. Early life and career Mark Hammond was born in Lancaster, South Carolina, and grew up in Spartanburg, South Carolina. Following graduation from Dorman High School in Spartanburg, he attended Newberry College, graduating with a B.A. in political science in 1986. Brandon Jamal Bostick (born May 3, 1989) is a former American football tight end. He played college football at Newberry. Bostick was signed by the Green Bay Packers as an undrafted free agent in 2012. He was also member of the Minnesota Vikings, Arizona Cardinals and New York Jets. Coleman Livingston Blease (October 8, 1868 – January 19, 1942) was an American politician of the Democratic Party who served as the 89th governor of South Carolina from 1911 to 1915, and as a United States senator from 1925 to 1931. Blease was the political heir of Benjamin Tillman. He led a political revolution in South Carolina by building a political base of white textile mill workers from the state's upcountry region.
