Newark Castle Railway Station
Newark Castle railway station is a Grade II listed railway station which serves the town of Newark in Nottinghamshire, England. History It was built in 1846 for the Midland Railway in the Italianate style. It is on the Nottingham to Lincoln Line, owned by Network Rail and managed by East Midlands Railway who provide all services. Its name comes from the nearby castle. The other station in Newark is Newark North Gate. Newark-on-Trent
Newark-on-Trent or Newark () is a market town and civil parish in the Newark and Sherwood district in Nottinghamshire, England. It is on the River Trent, and was historically a major inland port. The A1 road (Great Britain), A1 road bypasses the town on the line of the ancient Great North Road (Great Britain), Great North Road. The town's origins are likely to be Roman Britain, Roman, as it lies on a major Roman road, the Fosse Way. Midland Main Line
The Midland Main Line is a major railway line in England from London to Nottingham and Sheffield in the Midlands. It comprises the lines from London's St Pancras station via Leicester, Derby/Nottingham and Chesterfield in the East Midlands. Express passenger services on the line are operated by East Midlands Railway. The line is electrified between St Pancras and Corby and the section south of Bedford forms the northern half of the Thameslink network, with a semi-fast service to Brighton and other suburban services. Nottingham–Lincoln Line
The Nottingham–Lincoln line, marketed as the Castle line, is a railway line in central England, running north-east from Nottingham to Lincoln, Lincolnshire, Lincoln. The British Rail Class 222 Meridian is a diesel-electric multiple-unit high-speed passenger train capable of . Twenty-seven sets were built by Bombardier Transportation in Bruges, Belgium.
