'' New Zealand's Got Talent'' was a New Zealand reality television show, based on the original UK series, to find new talent. The third and final series began airing on TV One from 15 September 2013. Host Tāmati Coffey returned to the show, along with judges Jason Kerrison and Rachel Hunter and key sponsor Toyota New Zealand. Cris Judd also joined the judging panel, replacing Ali Campbell. The series screened at 7.30pm on Sunday evenings. The series was won by 22-year-old singeRenee Mauricefrom Wellington, who performed " And I Am Telling You I'm Not Going". Maurice had previously made it to the bootcamp round of the first New Zealand series of '' The X Factor''. Christchurch dance duo Silhouette was the runner-up, with 14-year-old singer-songwriter Jenny Mitchell from Gore in third place. Tāmati Coffey
Tamati Gerald Coffey (born 19 September 1979) is a list Member of the New Zealand Parliament for the New Zealand Labour Party. Prior to entering Parliament, he was most notably an award-winning broadcaster fronting many shows over a decade, for Television New Zealand. He was also a successful small business hospitality owner in his hometown of Rotorua for 7 years, including during the COVID-19 pandemic, before selling in 2022. He is also a father, having had a baby through gestational surrogacy with his partner. Clara van Wel (born 5 August 1997) is a New Zealand singer-songwriter, best known for winning series two of '' New Zealand's Got Talent'' in 2012. Background Van Wel was born in England and moved to New Zealand aged seven. They started writing their own songs after receiving a guitar when they were 10 and regularly performed at the Marlborough Farmers' Market. Van Wel enjoyed success in local Marlborough talent shows. Bhangra (dance)
Bhangra is a type of traditional folk dance of Punjab, originating in the Sialkot area of Punjab, Pakistan. It is done in the season of harvesting. According to Manuel (2001), bhangra is especially associated with the vernal Vaisakhi festival. In a typical performance, several dancers execute vigorous kicks, leaps, and bends of the body—often with upraised, thrusting arm or shoulder movements—to the accompaniment of short songs called ''boliyan'' and, most significantly, to the beat of a ''dhol'' (double-headed drum).
