New York's 61st State Assembly district is one of 150 districts of the New York State Assembly. it is represented by Assemblymember Charles Fall (D). Geography Prior to 2021, the district included neighborhoods in Staten Island's North Shore. Following redistricting in 2021, the district expanded to include Manhattan's Financial District, Battery Park City and the shoreline of Brooklyn between Brooklyn Heights and Bay Ridge. Charles Fall
Charles Fall (born March 12, 1989) is a member of the New York State Assembly, representing the 61st District since 2019. He is a Democrat. The district includes portions of the North Shore of Staten Island. The first Muslim elected to the Assembly, Fall was born and raised on Staten Island following his parents' immigration from Guinea. He previously served as the Staten Island borough director for Mayor of New York City Bill de Blasio, as well as the Chief of Staff to the New York City Parks Borough Commissioner for Staten Island. Matthew Titone
Matthew J. Titone (born January 24, 1961) is an American politician and lawyer from Staten Island, New York. A Democrat, he served as a member of the New York State Assembly from the 61st District, on Staten Island's North Shore from April 1, 2007 to January 1, 2019. Titone currently serves as a surrogate court judge of Richmond County. Early life, education, career Titone was born on Staten Island, the son of Vito J. Titone, a former judge of the New York State Court of Appeals. Titone was raised in the Grymes Hill and West Brighton neighborhoods. He went on to attend St. John's University School of Law, while working full-time as a law clerk for the late John S. Zachary. Robert Alan Straniere (born March 28, 1941) is a Republican politician from New York City. He represented a district in Staten Island in the New York State Assembly from 1981 until 2004, serving as the Assistant Minority Leader from 1995 until 2004.
