Blue Rodeo is a Canadian country rock band formed in 1984 in Toronto, Ontario. They have released 16 full-length studio albums, four live recordings, one greatest hits album, and two video/DVDs, along with multiple solo albums, side projects, and collaborations. History High school friends Jim Cuddy and Greg Keelor began playing music professionally together after completing university. They put together several bands without commercial success in the late 1970s, releasing a single as Hi-Fi's in 1980. The Hylozoists are a Canadian instrumental rock supergroup formed in 2001 in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. The band's name is derived from hylozoism and was started as a side project of record producer and multi-instrumentalist Paul Aucoin. History The Hylozoists is an instrumental band conceived by producer Paul Aucoin in 2001. Aucoin wrote and recorded their first album La Nouvelle Gauche (using a line-up of musicians mainly from Halifax) in his studio in Nova Scotia. Miranda Mulholland
Miranda Mulholland is a Canadian fiddle player and singer. Biography Mulholland is a member of Great Lake Swimmers, Belle Starr, and The Rattlesnake Choir as well as the founder and lead singer for the Roaring Girl Cabaret. She makes select appearances in the violin show Bowfire, and has played fiddle with Jim Cuddy, John Borra and Justin Rutledge, among others. Not limited to band performances, Mulholland has appeared in various theatre productions including ''Parfumerie'' and the world premiere of ''Spoon River'' with Soulpepper Theatre in Toronto. Tom Hooper (musician)
Tommy Scott Hooper is a Canadian songwriter and musician. He was a founding member of the Kelowna punk band Gentlemen of Horror, and also of The Grapes of Wrath, one of the most popular Canadian rock bands of the late 1980s and early 1990s. When singer/guitarist Kevin Kane left The Grapes of Wrath in 1992, Hooper and the rest of the band went on to become Ginger. Hooper and Kane later reunited as The Grapes of Wrath in 1998 and released an album called ''Field Trip'' in 2000. He is the brother of drummer and Grapes of Wrath bandmate Chris Hooper. Woodcut Print
Woodcut is a relief printing technique in printmaking. An artist carves an image into the surface of a block of wood—typically with gouges—leaving the printing parts level with the surface while removing the non-printing parts. Areas that the artist cuts away carry no ink, while characters or images at surface level carry the ink to produce the print. The block is cut along the wood grain (unlike wood engraving, where the block is cut in the end-grain). The surface is covered with ink by rolling over the surface with an ink-covered roller (brayer), leaving ink upon the flat surface but not in the non-printing areas. Multiple colors can be printed by keying the paper to a frame around the woodblocks (using a different block for each color).
