New Police Story
''New Police Story'' is a 2004 Hong Kong action film produced and directed by Benny Chan, and also produced by and starring Jackie Chan. The film was released in the Hong Kong on 24 September 2004. The film is a reboot of the ''Police Story'' series and is the fifth installment of the series. ''New Police Story'' relies much more on drama and heavy action than its predecessors. Plot Five youths rob a bank with the intention of shooting police officers. Inspector Chan Kwok-wing and his squad chase the gang and the entire squad is wiped out, including Hong, the younger brother of Chan's girlfriend Ho Yee. Sole survivor Chan takes a year long leave to binge-drink until his new partner Frank Cheng tries to convince Chan to return and reopen the case. In serial fiction, the term "reboot" signifies a new start to an established fictional universe, work, or series. A reboot discards continuity to re-create its characters, plotlines and backstory from the beginning. Ken Lo (Kenneth Houi Kang Low) (born 19 March 1957) is a Hong Kong actor, martial artist, and stuntman. He is known for his martial arts and stunt work as a former member of the Jackie Chan Stunt Team, most notably for his antagonistic role as John in ''Drunken Master II'' (1994). Early life Ken Lo was born on 19 March 1957 as Kenneth Lo Wai-Kwong in Stung Treng, Cambodia. Lo's father is Hong Kong-Chinese and his mother is a Laotian. John Shum
John Sham Kin-Fun (born 1952) is a Hong Kong actor and film producer. His English name is sometimes written as John Shum. Whilst known primarily for his comedic acting roles in Hong Kong cinema, he also spent time as a political activist. Biography Shum was educated in Hong Kong, the UK and the US. Upon his return to Hong Kong, he co-founded "City Magazine" with John Chan, and worked as its editor. At the same time, he began working in television and radio.
