New Orleans Catholic League
The Catholic League ( LHSAA district 9-5A) is a high school sports league in the Greater New Orleans area. History The history of the Catholic League can be traced back to 1895, but the first season of the Catholic League as we know it was in 1955. The league is named for having mostly New Orleans' oldest and biggest Catholic schools, though some public schools have played in the league as well. Chalmette High School in St. Bernard Parish had the longest tenure of any public school in the Catholic League. Chalmette was admitted to the Catholic League, then District 6-AAAA, in 1970 and stayed for 18 years. Chalmette was an all-boys school through the 1987-88 school year, but played one more year in the league after admitting girls, since the LHSAA reclassifies schools in November of even-numbered years for the following two school terms. Brother Martin High School
Brother Martin High School is a private, Catholic, all-male college preparatory school run by the United States Province of the Brothers of the Sacred Heart in New Orleans, Louisiana. South Terrebonne High School is a public secondary school in Bourg, Louisiana, United States. It is a part of the Terrebonne Parish School District. South Terrebonne High currently serves the coastal communities of Bourg, Chauvin, Montegut, Pointe-aux-Chenes, and the eastern part of incorporated Houma in Terrebonne Parish, Louisiana. Thibodaux High School
Thibodaux High School (THS) is a public high school serving students in grades 9–12 in Thibodaux, Louisiana, United States about 75 miles southwest of New Orleans. It is one of three high schools in the Lafourche Parish Public Schools. It serves: Thibodaux, Ward 6 (including Chackbay and Choctaw), and Kraemer (a.k.a. Bayou Boeuf). Houma, Louisiana
Houma ( ) is the largest city in, and the parish seat of, Terrebonne Parish in the U.S. state of Louisiana. It is also the largest principal city of the Houma– Bayou Cane–Thibodaux metropolitan statistical area. The city's government was absorbed by the parish in 1984, which currently operates as the Terrebonne Parish Consolidated Government. The population was 33,727 at the 2010 census, an increase of 1,334 over the 2000 census tabulation of 32,393. In 2020, the population estimates program determined 32,467 people lived in the city. At the 2020 census, its population rebounded to 33,406. Many unincorporated areas are adjacent to the city of Houma. Terrebonne High School
Terrebonne High School is a high school in Houma, Louisiana. It is a part of the Terrebonne Parish School District. History In 1969 Southdown High School (originally Houma Colored High School), which educated black students in Terrebonne Parish, closed. Students were moved to Terrebonne High and South Terrebonne High School. From 2015 to 2016 the Louisiana State Department of Education score for this school declined from 100.1 to 99.3; as an "A" level school makes 100 points or more, Terrebonne's rank fell from A to B. In fall of 2017 the 9th grade is scheduled to have been moved from Houma Junior High School to Terrebonne High. In all other areas of Terrebonne Parish, 9th graders were at the high school level. Redeemer-Seton High School
Redeemer-Seton High School was a Catholic high school in New Orleans, Louisiana. It was permanently closed after Hurricane Katrina damaged the campus in September 2005. A formal honorary commencement ceremony was held for Katrina graduates at St. Rita's Church in New Orleans on June 25, 2006. History Redeemer-Seton was formed by the merger of two Catholic high schools, Redeemer High School (1980–1994) and Seton Academy (1976–1994). The ''Redeemer High'' legacy began as Redemptorist Boys and Girls High School (1937–1980) in the ''Irish Channel'' section of New Orleans.
