New Jack City (Father Ted)
"New Jack City" is the ninth episode of the second series of the Channel 4 television sitcom ''Father Ted''. At the inaugural Ted Fest in February 2007, it was voted the best ''Father Ted'' episode. Synopsis Father Jack contracts "Hairy Hands Syndrome" (level 6 out of a maximum 12) and is sent to St. Clabbert's Hospital for wayward priests (jokingly referred to as "Jurassic Park" by the Clergymen of Craggy Island, after the film of the same title). He is visibly alarmed upon learning from Ted that he will be going to "Jurassic Park", and tries to escape by riding on a lawnmower, but to no avail. A new priest replaces Jack while he is on leave: Father Fintan Stack, an obnoxious, rude and destructive priest, who torments Ted and Dougal. ''Father Ted'' is a sitcom created by Irish writers Graham Linehan and Arthur Mathews (writer), Arthur Mathews and produced by British production company Hat Trick Productions for Channel 4. It aired over three series from 21 April 1995 until 1 May 1998, including a Christmas special, for a total of List of Father Ted episodes, 25 episodes. Father Ted Crilly
Father Ted Crilly is the Title character, eponymous main character of the British Channel 4 situation comedy ''Father Ted''. Created by Graham Linehan and Arthur Mathews (writer), Arthur Mathews, Ted was portrayed by comedian Dermot Morgan for the programme's three series. The character is a morally dubious Catholic Church, Roman Catholic priest exiled to Craggy Island, a small island off the coast of Galway in Ireland. The character was originally created by Mathews for a short-lived stand-up routine in the late 1980s. In 1994, Linehan and Mathews cast Morgan in the role for the television series, developing the character to match his abilities. '' Look Back'' is a 1967 American documentary film directed by D. A. Pennebaker that covers Bob Dylan's 1965 concert tour in England. In 1998, the film was selected for preservation in the United States National Film Registry by the Library of Congress as being deemed "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant". In a 2014 ''Sight & Sound'' poll, film critics voted ''Dont Look Back'' the joint ninth best documentary film of all time. Leroy Small (born 27 August 1970 in Leicester, England), better known as DJ SS, is a British drum and bass DJ and record producer. Biography SS started out as a hip hop and rare groove DJ in his home-town of Leicester, and was originally known as ''Scratchen Stein'' (later shortened to SS). When the hardcore scene exploded in the UK in the early 1990s, he and his partner Eidris started promoting their own parties called ''Total Kaos'' every Friday in Leicester. They also put on one of the first large indoor parties at Donington Park in the summer of 1991. It was an amazing success and 6,000 people danced till dawn. Since then he has gone on to DJ worldwide. "Speed 3" is the third episode of the third series of the Channel 4 sitcom ''Father Ted'' and the 20th episode overall. The episode parodies the action-thriller film ''Speed'' and the sequel '' Speed 2: Cruise Control''. "Speed 3" was written after the show's writers Graham Linehan and Arthur Mathews asked themselves: "How can we make a worse sequel than ''Speed 2''?" This episode was voted the fans' favourite episode on Channel 4's "Father Ted Night". Philip Thomas (born 12 February 1965), better known as Cutty Ranks, is a Jamaican dancehall singer. Biography Thomas was born in Clarendon Parish, Jamaica in 1965. He began his career as a reggae artist at the age of eleven with local sound systems, going on to work with the Gemini sound system, before moving on to work with Tony Rebel's Rebel Tone and Papa Roots, and later working with Stereo Mars, Arrows and Metro Media.
