New Innsbrook Country Club Futures Golf Classic
The City of Hammond Classic was an annual golf tournament for professional women golfers on the Futures Tour, the LPGA Tour's developmental tour. The event was played each year between 2003 and 2010 in the Hammond, Indiana area. The presenting sponsor was Horseshoe Casino, a casino located in Hammond. The tournament was a 54-hole event, as are most Futures Tour tournaments, and included pre-tournament pro-am opportunities, in which local amateur golfers can play with the professional golfers from the Tour as a benefit for local charities. The last benefiting charity from the City of Hammond Classic was the Lake Area United Way. Futures Tour
The Epson Tour, previously known as the LPGA Futures Tour, and known for sponsorship reasons between 2006 and 2010 as the Duramed Futures Tour and between 2012 and 2021 as the Symetra Tour, is the official developmental golf tour of the LPGA Tour. Tour membership is open to professional women golfers and to qualified amateurs. History The Futures Tour was founded in Florida in 1981 as the "Tampa Bay Mini Tour". It officially became the ''Futures Golf Tour'' in 1983 and in 1999 become a national tour designated as the "official developmental tour" of the LPGA Tour (the U.S.-based professional women's golf tour). Grace Park, Marilyn Lovander and Audra Burks were the first players to receive automatic LPGA Tour exempt status by finishing one, two, and three on the Futures Golf Tour Money List. The 2007 Duramed Futures Tour was a series of professional women's golf tournaments held from March through September 2007 in the United States. The Futures Tour is the second-tier women's professional golf tour in the United States and is the "official developmental tour" of the LPGA Tour. On July 18, 2007, the LPGA announced that it had acquired the Futures Tour effective immediately, "bringing women's professional golf now under one umbrella." Previously the Futures Tour had operated as a licensee of the LPGA. Jenny Shin
Jenny Shin (born 7 October 1992) is a South Korean professional golfer. Shin was born in Seoul, South Korea, and moved to the United States aged 9. She won the U.S. Girls' Junior in 2006. Shin turned professional in 2010. She played on the Futures Tour in 2010, winning The International at Concord in July and finishing 4th on the money list to earn her LPGA Tour card for 2011. She has played on the LPGA Tour since, with her first win at the 2016 Volunteers of America Texas Shootout. Reilley Rankin (born April 17, 1979) is an American professional golfer, currently playing on the LPGA Tour. Amateur career Rankin was a three-time American Junior Golf Association (AJGA) Rolex All-American from 1995 to 1997. She was a three-time All-American at the University of Georgia where she was the Southeastern Conference (SEC) Freshman of the Year in 1997, the NCAA Freshman of the Year in 1998, and the 1997–98 SEC Player of the Year. She won four consecutive collegiate tournaments in 1998, the same year she was a semifinalist at the Women's Western Amateur. She was forced to take two years off from competition in 1999 and 2000 after breaking her back but came in 2001 to lead the Georgia to the NCAA Championship title. Naree Song ( ko, 송나리, (born Naree Wongluekiet 1 May 1986) is a Korean professional golfer of Thai descent. Song's birth name was Naree Wongluekiet, and she and her identical twin sister were born in Bangkok, Thailand. Her father is South Korean and her mother is Thai. She is a South Korean citizen, and has represented Thailand in junior team competition, but she has spent much of her life in the United States. Her hometown in the United States was Bradenton, Florida. In 1999, Song was awarded the American Junior Golf Association All-American award. Nicole Castrale
Nicole Castrale (pronounced "cass-TRAHL-ee", née Dalkas, born March 24, 1979) is an American professional golfer on the LPGA Tour. Castrale was born in Glendale, California, and started playing golf at the age of 10. She graduated from Palm Desert High School in 1997 and played college golf for the USC Trojans in Los Angeles and earned her bachelor's degree in 2001. Professional career Castrale has won once on the LPGA Tour, the 2007 Ginn Tribute Hosted by Annika. She also played on the Futures Tour, winning twice in consecutive weeks in 2005. Ashley Prange (born November 24, 1981) is a professional golfer and winner of the reality television program '' The Big Break V: Hawaii''. College and amateur career Prange was born in Newport Beach, California. She graduated from the University of North Carolina in 2004 with a degree in Marketing and Advertising. Vicky Hurst
Vicky Hurst (born June 19, 1990) is an American professional golfer currently playing on the LPGA Tour. She turned professional as a 17-year-old in 2008, while still in high school. Playing on the Futures Tour that year, she won five times and set a Tour record for single season earnings with $93,107. Childhood and family life Hurst was born to a golfing family. While pregnant with Vicky, her mother Koko, a native Korean, was completing a round of golf at Andrews AFB near Washington, D.C. when her water broke on the 16th hole. Although winning the round, Koko left to give birth to Vicky at the base's medical center. Her father, Joe, who met Koko while he was stationed in Korea in the 1980s, was a retired Air Force colonel.
