New Hope (NE) is a political party in Macau. Its leader, José Pereira Coutinho, has served in the Legislative Assembly since 2005. In the most recent election on 12 September 2021, the party won 13.81% of the popular vote and 2 out of 14 directly elected seats. Pro-democracy Camp (Macau)
The pro-democracy camp ( zh, t=民主派; pt, campo pró-democracia) or pan-democracy camp () is a political alignment of politicians and social activists in Macau who support increased democracy and may work together in areas of common interest or by not fielding candidates against one another in elections. Democratic activists are usually critical of the post-1999 Macanese government and the People's Republic of China's authoritarian government, which they say does not properly represent the will of the people. Its supporters also advocate a faster pace of democratization and implementation of universal and equal suffrage. The Pan-democracy camp is aligned with and similar to, but distinct from, the Chinese democracy movement. Macau is the only geographical constituency in the elections for the Legislative Assembly of Macau, with three sub-geographical constituencies under it. 2021 Macanese Legislative Election
Elections for the 7th Legislative Assembly of Macao ( pt, Eleições para a 7.ª Assembleia Legislativa de Macau) were held in Macau on 12 September 2021. This legislative election will return 33 members of the Legislative Assembly of Macau, with 14 directly elected by all electorates, 12 indirectly elected by special interest groups and 7 appointed by the Chief Executive 15 days after the announcement of the election results. The voter turnout rate for the 2021 Legislative Assembly direct election stood at 42 per cent after polls closed, the lowest rate reported since the establishment of the Macau Special Administrative Region in 1999. Legislative elections were held in Macau on 17 September 2017 according to the provisions of the Basic Law of Macau. Out of a total of 33 seats, 14 were directly elected by universal suffrage under the highest averages method, while 12 were voted on from the Indirect election, and 7 from nomination by the chief executive. 2009 Macanese Legislative Election
Legislative elections were held in Macau on 20 September 2009. The official campaign began on 5 September, and several candidates received warnings from the Electoral Affairs Commission for having begun campaign activities beforehand. As in 2005, there are 29 seats, only 12 of which are elected by universal suffrage under the highest averages method. The rest are "elected" by the functional "constituencies" or appointed by the Chief Executive. 2005 Macanese Legislative Election
Elections for the Legislative Assembly of Macau were held in Macau on September 25, 2005. Election method Twelve candidates are elected directly using the highest averages method on party lists with divisors of 1,2,4,8 etc. There are 18 party lists, the highest ever, with a total of 125 candidates, also the highest ever. 5 of the lists are related to gambling. 10 candidates are elected by the functional constituencies. The seats are distributed like the directly elected seats. There is one list for each category. José Maria Pereira Coutinho ComM (; born 22 July 1957) is a Macanese politician and jurist.
