New Foot-Ball Club
The New Foot-Ball Club, especially known by its original name of (Society) Foot-ball Sky, was a Spanish association football, football club based in Madrid that was founded in 1897 by University of Cambridge, Cambridge and Oxford University graduates, and dissolved in 1903 due to internal differences and numerous splits in its 6-year history. In 1900, a conflict between Sky Football members caused some of them to leave and found a new club that would later become Real Madrid CF, Real Madrid, and in 1901, a new split within the club led to the creation of Club Español de Madrid, and finally, in January 1903, a new and definitive split led to the disappearance of the club, with New's best players founding Internacional Foot-ball Club. Tiro Del Pichón
Tiro del Pichón (), also known as Campo del Retiro ( Retiro), or Campo de la Rana (), was the first football pitch of Real Madrid between 1901 and 1902. They were not an official club at that time, playing friendly games on this field. Meetings were held there until 1903, the date the entity moved to the Campo de Jorge Juan. The main team at this stadium was Atlético Madrid. They used this field between 1902 and 1913 before moving to Campo de O'Donnell from 1913 to 1923. Atlético Madrid's Campo de O'Donnell had the same name as Real Madrid's Campo de O'Donnell for 10 years because their locations were very close to each other, less than 200 meters on the main boulevard called Calle de O'Donnell. The 1909 Copa del Rey was the 7th staging of the Copa del Rey, the Spanish football cup competition. The competition started on 4 April 1909, and concluded on 8 April 1909, with the final, held at the O'Donnell, in Madrid, in which Club Ciclista de San Sebastián lifted the trophy for the first time ever with a 3–1 victory over Español Madrid. The Basque goalscorers were George McGuinness, Charles Simmons and Miguel Sena. Club Ciclista de San Sebastián are the predecessors of Real Sociedad. The Copa del Rey 1904 was the second staging of the Copa del Rey, the Spanish football cup competition. The competition was played in 1904 in Madrid. It was notable for its chaotic development and the fact that Athletic Bilbao won the trophy without playing a game. Details Originally, three teams were to participate, one for each region.
