''New Amsterdam'' is an American medical drama television series, based on the book ''Twelve Patients: Life and Death at Bellevue Hospital'' by Eric Manheimer, that premiered on September 25, 2018 on NBC and concluded on January 17, 2023. Michael Doyle (born September 16, 1972) is an American actor. He is mainly known for his role on '' Law & Order: Special Victims Unit'' as Ryan O'Halloran and since 2018 on New Amsterdam as Martin McIntyre. Early life and career Doyle attended the Juilliard School as a member of the Drama Division's ''Group 27'' (1994-1998).
