Neutronica
''Neutronica'' is the fifteenth studio album (seventeenth overall) by British singer/songwriter Donovan. It was released in West Germany (RCA PL 28429) in August 1980 and France (Barclay Records BA 253 200149) in 1980. Background After ''Donovan'' failed to chart in both the UK and US, Donovan once again left his long-time producer Mickie Most. He travelled throughout mainland Europe, bringing attention to world hunger and protesting against nuclear proliferation and weapons development. RCA signed him for a European record distribution deal, beginning with ''Neutronica'', released in 1980. The album did not receive distribution in the US or UK. Many of the songs Donovan wrote for ''Neutronica'' are directly related to his political views. At the time, he was campaigning against what he viewed as disproportionate military spending while famine existed across much of the world. Morris Pert
Morris David Brough Pert (8 September 1947 – 27 April 2010) was a Scottish composer, drummer/percussionist, and pianist who composed in the fields of both contemporary classical and jazz-rock music. His compositions include three symphonies, piano music, chamber and solo instrumental music, choral music and "sonic landscapes" for electronic media; a late major work is "Ankh" for Carnyx and electronics written for eminent trombonist John Kenny. Biography Morris Pert was born into a musical family and raised in Arbroath, Scotland where he played variously in percussion, folk (Triad) and rock bands (Vegas) and began to compose. ''Donovan'' is the 14th studio album, and sixteenth album overall, from British singer-songwriter Donovan. It was released in the US (Arista AB 4143) in August 1977 and in the UK (RAK SRAK 528) with a different track order in October 1977. Background In 1976, Donovan's record contract with Epic Records came to an end with ''Slow Down World''. The album had only achieved limited chart success, and his contract was not renewed. Donovan's old record producer Mickie Most had launched Rak Records in the UK in 1969 and Donovan and Most teamed up to record Donovan's next album on Rak Records in 1977. Arista Records picked up the distribution rights in the US. In a distinct change from ''Slow Down World'', the songs on ''Donovan'' were an attempt to reach mass audiences again. The songs feature a contemporary sound and, with the exception of "Maya's Dance", generally avoid the gentle balladry of Donovan's previous work. ''Love Is Only Feeling'' is the sixteenth studio album (eighteenth overall) by Scottish singer/songwriter Donovan. It was released in West Germany (RCA PL 28472) in October 1981, in Italy in January 1982 ( Bubble Record, BLU 19610) and belatedly in the UK (RCA PL 28472) in 1983. History In 1981, Donovan entered the studio to record the second album of his German RCA contract. The resulting album, ''Love Is Only Feeling'', did not see a US release, but was released in the UK in 1983. The title track is a remake of "Someone's Singing" originally released on ''A Gift from a Flower to a Garden''. ''A cappella'' (, also , ; ) music is a performance by a singer or a singing group without instrumental accompaniment, or a piece intended to be performed in this way. The term ''a cappella'' was originally intended to differentiate between Renaissance polyphony and Baroque concertato musical styles. In the 19th century, a renewed interest in Renaissance polyphony, coupled with an ignorance of the fact that vocal parts were often doubled by instrumentalists, led to the term coming to mean unaccompanied vocal music.
