Neutron (Linus)
''Neutron'' is an Italian comic book series and the name of the eponymous main character created in 1965 by Guido Crepax. The series eventually became '' Valentina''. Publication history The first ''Neutron'' story, ''La curva di Lesmo'' was published in the magazine in '' Linus'' in May 1965. The series was centered on the superhero Neutron, and his fiancée Valentina was featured as a supporting character. Comic Books
A comic book, also called comicbook, comic magazine or (in the United Kingdom and Ireland) simply comic, is a publication that consists of comics art in the form of sequential juxtaposed panels that represent individual scenes. Panels are often accompanied by descriptive prose and written narrative, usually, dialogue contained in word balloons emblematic of the comics art form. "Comic Cuts" was a British comic published from 1890 to 1953. It was preceded by "Ally Sloper's Half Holiday" (1884) which is notable for its use of sequential cartoons to unfold narrative. In fiction, a character (or speaker, in poetry) is a person or other being in a narrative (such as a novel, play, radio or television series, music, film, or video game). Guido Crepax
Guido Crepas (15 July 1933, in Milan – 31 July 2003, in Milan), better known by his pen name Guido Crepax, was an Italian comics artist. He is most famous for his character '' Valentina'', created in 1965 and very representative of the spirit of the 1960s. The ''Valentina'' series of books and strips became noted for Crepax's sophisticated drawing, and for the psychedelic, dreamlike storylines, generally involving a strong dose of erotism. His work was often politically motivated too, inspired by his Communist convictions. A film based on his work called ''Baba Yaga'', featuring the character Valentina, was made in 1973. Valentina (comics)
''Valentina'' is an Italian comic strip series, created in 1965 by the Italian artist Guido Crepax and concluded in 1996. Originally a minor character working for the comic hero ''Neutron'', Valentina became the sole protagonist of the series in 1967. The first episode was entitled "La Curva di Lesmo" (referring to a curve of the Italian Formula 1 Grand Prix of Monza). This story was followed by 30 others, collected in a total of seven books, along with two others ''Lanterna magica'' (''Magic Lantern'', 1977) and ''Valentina pirata'' (''Pirate Valentina''), the first in full colour. Character Valentina Rosselli, whose appearance is inspired by silent film actress Louise Brooks, is a Milanese photojournalist. ''linus'' is an Italian comics magazine published in Italy since 1965. It is the first Italian magazine exclusively focused on comics. During a period of crisis, the magazine was not published in May and June 2013, but returned in July, published by Baldini & Castoldi. History and profile The first number of ''linus'' was published in April 1965 by Milano Libri, a subsidiary of Rizzoli, and was later published by Baldini & Castoldi in monthly issues until April 2013. Its founder was Giovanni Gandini. The magazine's name was always written in lowercase letters. It had a sister magazine, ''Alter'', which was also a comics magazine.
