Nettan Lindgren
Mona Anette Lindgren Jansson, known as Nettan Lindgren Jansson (born 13 March 1957, in Grödinge) is a Swedish auto racing driver. She is the first and only female driver to win a race in the British Touring Car Championship, when she won her class with a BMW M3 at Thruxton. She is currently racing in Trofeo Abarth 500 Scandinavia and works as a racing manager for her daughter, Caroline. Racing career She started racing in 1973 with karting, before moving on to Swedish Formula Ford. In 1980 she competed in the Swedish Sports 2000 Championship. From 1981 she raced in both the Swedish and Finnish Formula 3 Championship. She was Lancia Ladies Cup Winner between 1985 and 1988. She competed in the BTCC for three seasons between 1989 and 1991, all in a BMW M3. Despite being the only female class winner, possibly her best known moment came in 1991. Grödinge
Botkyrka Municipality ( ) is a municipality in Stockholm County in east central Sweden, not far from the capital Stockholm. Its seat is located in the town of Tumba. In 1971 ''Grödinge'' was merged with Botkyrka and in 1974 ''Salem'' was added. The Salem part was split off again in 1983, and a new Salem Municipality was formed. Oulton Park
Oulton Park is a hard surfaced track used for motor racing, close to the village of Little Budworth, Cheshire, England. It is about from Winsford, from Chester city centre, from Northwich and from Warrington, with a nearby rail connection along the Mid-Cheshire Line. It occupies much of the area which was previously known as the Oulton Estate. The racing circuit is owned and operated by Jonathan Palmer's MotorSport Vision organisation. The 1991 Esso RAC British Touring Car Championship season was the 34th British Touring Car Championship (BTCC) season and marked the first year of the Super Touring era. Changes for 1991 *After a transitional year in 1990, the multi-class Group A regulations was fully dropped and replaced by the new Super Touring rules that had evolved out of Group A's Div. II category. Group A cars were still allowed to participate, but only as long as they were restricted to bring them down to Super Touring speeds. Season summary Group A had towards the end of its existence been dominated by Ford and their Sierra RS500. The 1990 Esso RAC British Touring Car Championship season was the 33rd British Touring Car Championship (BTCC) season and marked the last year of the Group A era. It was also the final year of the multi-class format. Changes for 1990 *Classes changed from four to two. Group A cars now ran alongside the all new 2 litre Touring Car Formula, with a view to a single class formula for 1991. Birmingham Superprix was a motor racing meeting held on a street circuit in Birmingham city centre, England, from 1986 to 1990. The principal event was a round of the FIA Formula 3000 Championship, but support races included BTCC and Thundersports Series rounds, as well as sports car racing. History Early days The idea of a motor race in the centre of Birmingham – England's second city – was mooted in local council meetings as far back as 1966. A councillor from Birmingham City Council, Peter Barwell, and Birmingham businessman and racing driver Martin Hone were the proposers of the idea, and pushed it forward against various oppositions. Snetterton Circuit is a motor racing course in Norfolk, England, originally opened in 1953. Owned by Jonathan Palmer's MotorSport Vision organisation, it is situated on the A11 road north-east of the town of Thetford and south-west of the city of Norwich. Brands Hatch is a motor racing circuit in West Kingsdown, Kent, England, United Kingdom. Originally used as a grasstrack motorcycle circuit on farmland, it hosted 12 runnings of the British Grand Prix between 1964 and 1986 and currently hosts many British and International racing events. Donington Park
Donington Park is a motorsport circuit located near Castle Donington in Leicestershire, England. The circuit business is now owned by Jonathan Palmer's MotorSport Vision organisation, and the surrounding Donington Park Estate, still owned by the Wheatcroft family, is currently under lease by MotorSport Vision until 2038. It has a capacity of 120,000, and is also the venue of the Download Festival. Originally part of the Donington Hall estate, it was created as a racing circuit during the period between the First and Second World Wars when the German Silver Arrows were battling for the European Championship.
