The Dutch Olympic Committee*Dutch Sports Federation, ( nl, Nederlands Olympisch Comité*Nederlandse Sport Federatie) generally abbreviated NOC*NSF, is the overall coordinating Dutch sports organization that also functions as the Dutch National Olympic Committee and National Paralympic Committee. Based at the National Sports Centre Papendal in Arnhem, it is a federation of 90 sports organizations, representing about 2700 individual sports clubs. Carla Zijlstra
Carla Johanna Zijlstra (born 15 March 1969) is a retired speed skater from the Netherlands who was active between 1989 and 1999. She competed at the 1992, 1994 and 1998 Winter Olympics in the 1500, 3000 and 5000 m. Her best achievements were fourth positions in the 3000 and 5000 m in 1992. In 1998, she was the Olympic flag bearer for the Netherlands. She won two silver (1996, 1997) and one bronze medal (1998) in the 5000 m at the world championships; she also had a bronze medal in the 3000 m in 1997. In 2001, she married Anthony Evans, an Olympic cross-country skier from Australia, and moved to Canberra. Lia van Schie (born 8 July 1970) is a retired speed skater from the Netherlands who was active between 1989 and 1995. Yvonne Van Gennip
Yvonne Maria Therèse van Gennip (born 1 May 1964) is one of the most successful female Dutch all-round speed skaters. Her main success dates from the 1988 Winter Olympics in Calgary, where she unexpectedly won three gold medals. She was the most successful athlete at the 1988 Winter Olympics, along with Matti Nykänen of Finland. After she had injured her foot, and had surgery less than two months before the games, the East German women were heavily favoured to win the distances over 500 meters. But Van Gennip smashed the world record by almost five seconds to win the 3000 metres, beat her personal record by almost 4 seconds to win the 1500 metres, and was almost seven seconds faster than her own world record time to win the 5000 metres as well. Sandra Voetelink (born 7 August 1970) is a retired speed skater from the Netherlands who was active between 1988 and 1994. In 1992, she won a national title in the 1500 m and finished second in the 500 m and 1000 m. Bart Veldkamp
Bart Veldkamp (; born 22 November 1967) is a retired speed skater, who represented the Netherlands and later Belgium in international competitions, including the Winter Olympics. He currently is the national speed skating coach of Belgium. Speed skating In 1990, Bart Veldkamp won the European Allround Championships and came very close to repeating that feat 11 years later in 2001, finishing 2nd. At the 1992 Winter Olympics, he won a gold medal on the 10,000 m. Mainly due to this achievement, Veldkamp was named Dutch Sportsman of the Year in 1992. Before the 1994 Winter Olympics, he was dissatisfied with the qualifying procedures for tournaments and became a Belgian. In Belgium there was (and still is) no speed skating tradition, so qualifying for tournaments became simple because there were no other speed skaters to compete with. Falko Zandstra
Falko Zandstra (born 27 December 1971) is a former Dutch speed skater. Because of his thin legs he was also called ''de Gespierde Spijker'' which translates to ''the Muscular Nail''. Biography Zandstra was born in Heerenveen, Friesland. He was a natural talent who had his career peak at a very young age. In 1990 and 1991 he became junior world champion. In 1991 he won with a world record in the small combination. In his international debut year 1992 he became European Champion Allround and finished second in the World Allround Championships, after Roberto Sighel. In that season he also won the World Cup at the 1500 meters and a silver medal at the Winter Olympics in the 5000 meters. A year later, in 1993 he became World champion and European champion again.
