Netelia
''Netelia'' is a genus of ichneumonid wasps in the subfamily Tryphoninae. There are over 330 described species in ''Netelia'' grouped into 12 subgenera. Description and identification ''Neteila'' generally are entirely orange to brownish yellow in color and are medium to large in size, with a fore wing measuring between 6 to 20 mm. They have large ocelli, which often tough the compound eyes and mandibles that are twisted 90°. Both their antennae and legs are conspicuously long for ichneumonids. In contrast to the superficially similar Ophioninae Ophioninae is a worldwide subfamily of Ichneumonidae with 32 genera, and very rich in tropical regions. They are koinobiont endoparasitoids of larval Lepidoptera, though at least one species parasitizes Scarabaeidae (Coleoptera). They are among ..., the forewing usually has veins 2r-m and 3r-m present, the latter of which forms a small, triangular areolet, and has the Rs vein strongly bent as it approaches 3r-m. The ovipositor is al ...

Tryphoninae
The Tryphoninae comprise a worldwide subfamily of the parasitic wasp family Ichneumonidae. Most species of the Tryphoninae are koinobiont ectoparasitoids of Symphyta larvae, but members of some genera (e.g. ''Netelia'') are ectoparasitoids of Lepidoptera larvae. Tryphonines have a hair-margined clypeus and two longitudinal parallel ridges occur on the first tergite. The female sometimes has stalked eggs projecting from her ovipositor. Most species are Holarctic. Fifty-one genera are described. Ichneumonidae
The Ichneumonidae, also known as the ichneumon wasps, Darwin wasps, or ichneumonids, are a family (biology), family of parasitoid wasps of the insect order Hymenoptera. They are one of the most diverse groups within the Hymenoptera with roughly 25,000 species currently described. However, this likely represents less than a quarter of their true Species richness, richness as reliable estimates are lacking, along with much of the most basic knowledge about their ecology, Species distribution, distribution, and evolution.Quicke, D. L. J. (2015). The braconid and ichneumonid parasitoid wasps: biology, systematics, evolution and ecology. Chichester: John Wiley & Sons, Ltd. Ichneumonid wasps, with very few exceptions, attack the immature stages of Holometabolism, holometabolous insects and spiders, eventually killing their hosts. They thus fulfill an important role as regulators of insect populations, both in natural and semi-natural systems, making them promising agents for Biological p ...

Ophioninae
Ophioninae is a worldwide subfamily of Ichneumonidae with 32 genera, and very rich in tropical regions. They are koinobiont endoparasitoids of larval Lepidoptera, though at least one species parasitizes Scarabaeidae (Coleoptera). They are among the only Parasitica whose ovipositors can be used to sting vertebrates. The pupae are ovoid with a central clear band characteristic for this subfamily. Ophionines are typically fairly large, orange, slender insects with compressed, curved abdomens. They have very large ocelli A simple eye (sometimes called a pigment pit) refers to a form of eye or an optical arrangement composed of a single lens and without an elaborate retina such as occurs in most vertebrates.
