Neslihan (singer)
Neslihan (born September 26, 1983, in Malatya, Turkey) is a Turkish pop music singer, songwriter, and composer. She has been called the Céline Dion of Turkey, and composer Atilla Özdemiroğlu likened her to a modern-day bard. Her songs are known for their ability to express common people's troubles, and Neslihan has stated that her goal is to help humanity through her music. Biography Neslihan was born in Malatya, Turkey, in 1983. When she was in second grade, her family moved to Mersin, Turkey, a city whose vibrant musical culture she credits with deepening her interest in music, particularly the guitar. Neslihan started writing lyrics for her songs when she was in middle school. She composed her first song when she was 14 years old. Pop music is a genre of popular music that originated in its modern form during the mid-1950s in the United States and the United Kingdom. Sezen Aksu
Sezen Aksu (; born Fatma Sezen Yıldırım; 13 July 1954) is a Turkish pop music singer, songwriter and producer who has sold over 40 million albums worldwide. Her nicknames include the "Queen of Turkish Pop" and "''Minik Serçe''" ("Little Sparrow"). Müzeyyen Senar (; 16 July 1918 – 8 February 2015) was a Turkish classical music performer, known as the "''Diva of the Republic''". Early years Müzeyyen Dombayoğlu was born in 1918 in the village of Gököz, in Keles district of Bursa Province, in the then Ottoman Empire. She had two elder brothers İsmet and Hilmi. Her mother Zehra used to sing Senar to sleep. At the age of five, she developed a stutter after returning from a wedding ceremony, which she thought was the result of fear, as she recalled. Her speech disorder lasted until adulthood, though, as is usually the case with performers, it did not affect her singing voice. At six years old, knowing most of the popular folk songs by heart, she sang at family gatherings and wedding ceremonies, to which her mother took her. Belkıs Özener (born 28 March 1940) is a Turkish singer. Life and career Özener was born in the Kestelli neighborhood of İzmir as the third child of road contractor Mehmet from Erzincan and Yugoslavian immigrant Fatma Aras. She has two elder sisters named Belma and Gönül. In 1952, and after her sister Gönül Yazar successfully passed exams to get a job in radio, she moved to Ankara and later to Istanbul with Yazar. Zeki Müren (; 6 December 1931 – 24 September 1996) was a Turkish singer, composer, songwriter, actor and poet.
