Nervus
Nervus are an English anarcho-punk band from Watford. The current lineup is Em Foster (guitar, vocals), Paul Etienne (keyboards), Lucinda Livingstone (bass), and Jack Kenny (drums). They have released four full-length albums; ''Permanent Rainbow'' (2016), ''Everything Dies'' (2018), ''Tough Crowd'' (2019), and ''The Evil One'' (2022). History Nervus began as a bedroom songwriting project for singer and guitarist Em Foster in 2014, before expanding to a full band with the addition of Paul Etienne on keyboards, Jack Kenny on drums and Karl Woods on bass. They released their first album, ''Permanent Rainbow'', on Venn Records, a label run by members of the band Gallows, in 2016. In early 2018, the band announced they would be releasing their second album ''Everything Dies'' on Big Scary Monsters on 9 March 2018. Big Scary Monsters Recording Company (often known simply as Big Scary Monsters or BSM Records) is an independent record label based in Oxford, England, UK. Its releases include La Dispute, Beach Slang, Modern Baseball, Minus The Bear, mewithoutYou, Kevin Devine, Caspian, yndi halda, Gnarwolves, The Fall of Troy, Andrew W.K., Tall Ships, Into It. Supermilk
Supermilk is an indie rock band from London, England. Originally the solo recording project of former Doe drummer/vocalist Jake Popyura, Supermilk has been releasing music since 2017 with a full band incarnation active since 2020. History Supermilk released its first EP ''Hello? Yes this is Supermilk...'' in 2017 via Keroleen Records. A second EP, ''Rare Delusions'', followed in 2019. After the dissolution of Popyura's long term band Doe, Supermilk announced the release of its debut album along with a live band featuring members of Personal Best, Colour Me Wednesday and Cheerbleederz. Several shows were scheduled but later cancelled due to the global coronavirus pandemic. The album, ''Death Is the Best Thing for You Now'', was released on March 27th 2020. Watford
Watford () is a town and borough in Hertfordshire, England, 15 miles northwest of Central London, on the River Colne. Initially a small market town, the Grand Junction Canal encouraged the construction of paper-making mills, print works, and breweries. While industry has declined in Watford, its location near London and transport links has attracted several companies to site their headquarters in the town. Cassiobury Park is a public park that was once the manor estate of the Earls of Essex. The town developed next to the River Colne on land belonging to St Albans Abbey. In the 12th century, a charter was granted allowing a market, and the building of St Mary's Church began. Indie Rock
Indie rock is a Music subgenre, subgenre of rock music that originated in the United States, United Kingdom and New Zealand from the 1970s to the 1980s. Originally used to describe independent record labels, the term became associated with the music they produced and was initially used interchangeably with alternative rock or "Pop rock, guitar pop rock". Gallows (band)
Gallows are an English hardcore punk band from Watford, Hertfordshire. The band was formed in 2005 after Laurent Barnard's previous band disbanded. Gallows' debut album, ''Orchestra of Wolves'', was distributed in the United States by Epitaph Records, and they were subsequently signed to Warner Bros. Records for a £1 million album contract and recorded ''Grey Britain''. The band has been particularly successful in the UK, with two songs charting on the UK Single Charts, and have been featured in magazines such as ''Kerrang!'', ''Alternative Press'' and ''Rolling Stone''. Get Better Records
Get Better Records is an American independent record label based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. History and background The label was founded by Alex Lichtenauer and Nick King in 2009 in Keene, New Hampshire. King left the label in 2010; Get Better is now co-run by Lichtenauer with Ally Einbinder and Jenna Pup. Its stated aim is to "reverse the constant underrepresentation of the queer arts community, with a specific focus on punk, hardcore, and alternative rock music". An article in ''Philadelphia'' similarly described it as "queer forward".
