Neri Per Caso
Neri per Caso are an Italian a cappella musical group. Career The group formed in Salerno as Crecason in 1991 and consisted of six elements: Diego and Ciro Caravano (brothers), their cousins Mimì and Gonzalo Caravano (also brothers), Mario Crescenzo and Massimo De Divitiis. The group's name was changed after they met songwriter and producer Claudio Mattone, who saw them performing in Rome all "dressed in black" (in Italian "Neri"). When he asked them why they picked that color and they said it happened purely "by chance" (in Italian "per caso"). In 1995 they won the newcomers section at the Sanremo Music Festival with the song "Le ragazze". ''Il mare calmo della sera'' is the debut album by Italian tenor singer Andrea Bocelli, following his win of the Sanremo Festival in 1994, singing his first single and the leading single of the album of the same name. It was certified Gold in the Netherlands. It was followed by the release of '' Bocelli'', which topped charts all over Europe, in 1995. Cecilia Cipressi (born 26 February 1977), best known as Syria or Airys, is an Italian singer and entertainer. Life and career Born in Rome, Syria is the daughter of Elio Cipressi, a record producer and former singer. Noted by composer Claudio Mattone, she won the Newcomers competition at the 46th edition of the Sanremo Music Festival with the song "Non ci sto", and one year later she placed third in the Big Artists competition of the Festival with the song "Sei tu". The Sanremo Music Festival 1995 was the 45th annual Sanremo Music Festival, held at the Teatro Ariston in Sanremo, province of Imperia, in the late February 1995 and broadcast by Rai 1. The show was presented by Pippo Baudo, who also served as the artistic director, with actresses Anna Falchi and Claudia Koll. The winner of the Big Artists section was Giorgia with the song "Come saprei", which also won the Critics Award. The a cappella group Neri per Caso won the Newcomers section with the song "Le ragazze". In the opening night, shortly after the beginning of the show, a man, Pino Pagano, sat on the edge of the gallery of the theater and showed the intention to commit suicide jumping below, shouting "Pippo, io mi butto" (Italian for "Pippo, I'm jumping"): he was eventually stopped by Baudo himself amid the applause of the audience.
