Nepal Police Club (formerly known as Mahendra Police Club) is a sports club owned and managed by Nepal Police. The club competes in the Martyr's Memorial A-Division League, the top flight of Nepali club football. History Established in 1952 and named after King Mahendra Bir Bikram Shah Dev, ''Mahendra Police Club'' has been part of the new Nepal League since its inception in 2003. The club finished runners-up in the 2004-05 season and were third next year. Year 2007 The year 2007 has been the most successful year for Mahendra Police Club. They started well in the 2006-07 season with a perfect blend of experienced and amateur players and clinched the Martyr's Memorial A-Division League title. MPC, who have won all Nepalese knock-out tournaments till date, have solid a backline led by experienced national defender Rakesh Shrestha with young but experienced Ritesh Thapa under the bar. 2015 Nepal National League
The 2015 Nepal National League also known as the RedBull National League for sponsorship reasons is the 2nd edition of Nepal National League. The winners Three Star Club received 1 Crore or 10,000,000 rupees ($149,278 USD). Red Bull energy drink is the main sponsor. San Miguel Beer is also a co-sponsor of the competition. The League featured 9 teams from Kathmandu and the rest of Nepal. The League was heavily affected by the April 2015 Nepal earthquake, with play being suspended from late April and due to resume in September. Teams A total of 9 teams featured in the league. Kapila ( sa, कपिल), also referred to as Cakradhanus, is a sage in Hindu tradition. According to Bhagavata Purana, he is the son of the sage Kardama and Devahuti, the daughter of the Svayambhuva Manu. Kardama had nine daughters, who were very learned and went ahead to marry Marici, as well as other great sages.
