Nemesis (video Game)
is a 1990 shoot 'em up video game developed and published by Konami for the Game Boy. It is part of the Gradius series. Similar to Taito's ''Sagaia'', this game uses a once-international title for an earlier game in the series to represent a mostly original project. A sequel, '' Nemesis II'', was released for the same platform in 1991. Gradius (video Game)
is a side-scrolling shooter video game developed and published by Konami. The first game in the Gradius, ''Gradius'' series, it was originally released as a coin-operated arcade game in 1985. The player maneuvers a spacecraft known as the Vic Viper that must defend itself from the various alien enemies. The game uses a power-up system called the "power meter", based upon collecting capsules to purchase additional weapons. The arcade version of ''Gradius'' was initially released internationally outside Japan under the title of ''Nemesis'', but subsequent home releases have since used the original title. Ultra Games
Ultra Software Corporation was a shell corporation and publishing label created in 1988 as a subsidiary of Konami of America, in an effort to get around Nintendo of America's strict licensing rules in place at the time for the North American market. One of these rules was that a third-party company could only publish up to five games per year for the Nintendo Entertainment System in the US. This was hardly convenient for Konami, which had begun releasing more than ten games a year for both the Famicom and its Disk System add-on in Japan. With a greater library than it was allowed to localize, Konami formed the Ultra Games brand to extend its annual library to ten games a year. Ultra's first game was the NES version of ''Metal Gear''.
