Nemanja Aleksandrov
Nemanja Aleksandrov (Serbian Cyrillic: Немања Александров, born April 10, 1987) is a Serbian professional basketball player. He also represented the Serbian national basketball team internationally. He is a 2.10 m (6 ft 11 in) tall power forward, but can play as a small forward Professional career After winning gold and MVP honors at the 2003 U16 European Championships and receiving "young athlete of the year" distinction in Serbia and Montenegro the same year, Aleksandrov was regarded as a future NBA player. He would have a solid pro career, but would not live up to the huge expectations that were placed upon him due to big injury problems with his knees. He started his professional basketball career with FMP Železnik and stayed there until the summer of 2006. The 2003–04 ABA Goodyear League was the third season of the Liga ABA. Serbian Cyrillic
The Serbian Cyrillic alphabet ( sr, / , ) is a variation of the Cyrillic script used to write the Serbian language, updated in 1818 by Serbian linguist Vuk Karadžić. It is one of the two alphabets used to write standard modern Serbian, the other being Gaj's Latin alphabet. Karadžić based his alphabet on the previous Slavonic-Serbian script, following the principle of "write as you speak and read as it is written", removing obsolete letters and letters representing iotified vowels, introducing from the Latin alphabet instead, and adding several consonant letters for sounds specific to Serbian phonology. The 2003 FIBA Europe Under-16 Championship (known at that time as 2003 European Championship for Cadets) was the 17th edition of the FIBA Europe Under-16 Championship. Nike Hoop Summit
The Nike Hoop Summit is an international men's basketball all-star game sponsored by Nike, held once a year since 1995, except from 2001–2003, which features the USA Basketball Men's Junior Select Team against a World Select Team of international players. The players demonstrate their skills and hope to attract attention from either NBA scouts or colleges. A number of current NBA players have participated in this event in the past. In the 2010 edition of the event, Enes Kanter scored 34 points and surpassed the event's record of 33 points set by Dirk Nowitzki in 1998. The FIBA U16 European Championship, previously known as the FIBA Europe Championship for Cadets, is a youth basketball competition that was inaugurated with the 1971 edition. Basketball Bundesliga-Pokal, commonly known as the BBL-Pokal, is the annual national basketball cup competition in Germany. Since 2009, the title has been awarded to the winner of a tournament competition between top clubs of each Basketball Bundesliga (BBL) season.
