Nelligen
Nelligen is a village on the Clyde River (New South Wales), Clyde River on the South Coast, New South Wales, South Coast of New South Wales, Australia. Location and services The village is situated on the river's western bank near a junction with Nelligen Creek, and inland from Batemans Bay, New South Wales, Batemans Bay. History The original inhabitants of the land were Indigenous Australians, Aborigines of the Walbanga, Murrinjari and Bergalia clans. The origin of the name is unclear and was already in use at the time of the first survey in 1828. The surveyor Robert Hoddle described the site of the future township as of "good forest land at Nellican Creek" and by the 1830s timber cutters had cleared a site for settlement and work had begun on a road to Batemans Bay. Currowan
Currowan is a locality in the Eurobodalla Shire, on the South Coast of New South Wales, Australia. At the 2016 census, it had a population of 53. Location Currowan is about 42 km south-east of Braidwood. The locality can be considered as having three distinct parts. The western part of the locality, near where the Kings Highway runs close to Currowan Creek below Clyde Mountain, the largely forested and hilly central area, and the eastern part adjacent to the right bank of the Clyde River.
