Neil Martin (motorsport)
Neil Martin (born 3 September 1972) is an English Formula One strategist who was the former head of strategy at Scuderia Ferrari. Career After studying mathematics and computer science at the University of Southampton, Martin continued at Southampton to read Operational Research (OR) for his MSc. Originally intending to seek a job in the City of London, he managed to convince McLaren Racing to sponsor his idea for a Race Strategy project. On completion McLaren offered him a job. In 1998 Martin pioneered the use of Game Theory and Monte Carlo techniques in Formula 1 race strategy, which embraced risk and random events to deliver more awareness of the likely race outcomes. These stochastic techniques allowed for the modelling of uncertain events e.g. future traffic patterns, the likelihood of overtakes and what to do under a Safety Car, which gave better insight than the previous deterministic algorithms and therefore allowed for more informed decisions under risk events. ... 2009 Chinese Grand Prix
The 2009 Chinese Grand Prix (formally the 2009 Formula 1 Chinese Grand Prix) was a Formula One motor race held on 19 April 2009 at the Shanghai International Circuit, Shanghai, People's Republic of China. It was the third race of the 2009 Formula One season, a change from previous years, when it took place towards the end of the season. Sebastian Vettel of Red Bull Racing won the race after starting from pole position. Both the race win and pole position were the first for Red Bull team. Jacques Villeneuve
Jacques Joseph Charles Villeneuve ( born 9 April 1971) is a Canadian professional racing driver and amateur musician who won the 1997 Formula One World Championship with Williams. In addition to Formula One (F1) he has competed in various other forms of motor racing, winning the 1995 Indianapolis 500 and the 1995 PPG Indy Car World Series. He is the son of former Ferrari racing driver Gilles Villeneuve. Mika Häkkinen
Mika Pauli Häkkinen (; born 28 September 1968), nicknamed "The Flying Finn", is a Finnish former racing driver. He won the Formula One World Drivers' Championship in 1998 and 1999, both times driving for McLaren. Häkkinen is one of three Formula One drivers from Finland that have won the World Drivers' Championship, and the only one to have done so more than once. Mark Henry Gallagher (born 9 March 1962) is a Formula 1 motor racing executive, public speaker, media commentator and director. He is currently the managing director of Performance Insights Ltd and was the founder and co-owner of Status Grand Prix, which won the 2009 A1 Grand Prix World Cup Motorsport and competed in GP3, GP2 and World Endurance sports car racing. Pat Fry
Pat Fry (born 17 March 1964) is a British motorsports engineer. Primarily working in Formula One, he has previously held positions with the McLaren, Ferrari, Manor Racing, and Benetton teams. As of 2022, Fry is the Chief Technical Officer for the Alpine F1 Team. Early career Fry was born in Shepperton, Surrey, England. After attempting several engineering courses, he became an apprentice at Thorn EMI in 1981. While at Thorn EMI, he completed a day-release course in electronics at the City of London Polytechnic.
