Neil Hunt
Neil Hunt (born 21 November 1960) is a former professional rugby league footballer who played in the New South Wales Rugby League (NSWRL) competition for Parramatta with whom he won the 1982 premiership and the Gold Coast. He primarily played on the . Background While attending Pendle Hill High School, Hunt played for the Australia national schoolboys rugby league team, Australian Schoolboys team in 1978 and 1979. Playing career Hunt made his first grade debut for Parramatta in Round 19 1979 against North Sydney Bears, North Sydney playing from the bench in a 41–3 victory. In 1982, Hunt played on the wing for Parramatta in the 1982 NSWRL grand final victory over Manly-Warringah which was the club's 2nd consecutive premiership win. Eric Grothe Sr
Eric Grothe Sr. (born 6 January 1960), also known by the nickname "Guru", is an Australian former professional rugby league footballer who played in the 1970s and 1980s. A New South Wales and Australian representative , he played club football for the Parramatta Eels with whom he won four NSWRL premierships. 1983 Rugby League State Of Origin Series
The 1983 State of Origin series was the second time the annual three-game series between the New South Wales and Queensland rugby league teams was played entirely under " state of origin" selection rules. After the Australian team had swept all before them in 1982, including sweeping New Zealand in the mid-season tests, before embarking on the highly successful 1982 Kangaroo tour where they became the first touring side to go through undefeated, winning all three Ashes tests against Great Britain and the two tests against France, the 1983 State of Origin series was billed as something of an unofficial World Championship. Queensland State Rugby League Team
The Queensland rugby league team represents the Australian state of Queensland in rugby league football. Nicknamed the "Maroons" after the colour of their jersey, they play three times a year against arch-rivals New South Wales rugby league team, New South Wales in the State of Origin series. The North Sydney Bears is an Australian rugby league football club based in North Sydney, New South Wales. Graeme Atkins (born 9 June 1956) is an Australian former professional rugby league footballer who played in the 1970s and 1980s. Playing career Atkins made his first grade debut for Parramatta in the 1975 season against Western Suburbs. Atkins was a replacement in the 1976 grand final against Manly-Warringah but was in the starting side for the 1977 grand final and the subsequent replay against St George. In 1981, Atkins scored a try in Parramatta's maiden premiership victory over Newtown. In 1982, Atkins played in the preliminary final victory over Eastern Suburbs but did not feature in the grand final victory of that season. In 1983, Atkins made the move to Easts but only spent two seasons there before returning to Parramatta. In 1986, Atkins played in 16 games for Parramatta but was not included in the victorious grand final side over Canterbury. The Australian Schoolboys rugby league team is the national rugby league football team for secondary school students in Australia. The team competes against counterparts in New Zealand, known as the Junior Kiwis, England, Wales and France amongst others. Started in 1972, the Australian Schoolboys have produced over 50 Australian representatives, amongst a host of players who have represented other nations at the highest level.
