Neil Gibson (1899 – 1974) was a Scottish footballer who played as a centre half, primarily for Clyde. He scored the goal which won the Glasgow Cup for the club in the 1925–26 season, with a win over Celtic at their own ground, and in 1929 was selected to play for the Glasgow FA select team in their annual match against the Sheffield FA. Neilly Gibson
Neil Gibson (23 February 1873 – January 1947) was a Scottish footballer, who played for Rangers, Partick Thistle and the Scotland national team. Career Adept at playing in either left or right wing half position, Gibson joined Rangers in 1894 from local Larkhall side Royal Albert, where he had been for only a few months after moving from Junior team Larkhall Thistle. During his time at Ibrox, he won four consecutive league titles ( 1898–99 (in which the team won all 18 fixtures), 1899–1900, 1900–01 and 1901–02) as well as the Scottish Cup in 1896–97, 1897–98, and 1902–03 plus five Glasgow Cups and three Glasgow Merchants Charity Cups. He moved to Partick Thistle in 1904, where he remained for five years. He was capped 14 times by Scotland between 1895 and 1905, scoring one goal. Jimmy Gibson (footballer, Born 1901)
James Davidson Gibson (12 June 1901 – 1 January 1978) was a Scottish footballer who played for Kirkintilloch Rob Roy, Ashfield, Partick Thistle and Aston Villa. His career spanned 19 years, from 1917 to 1936. Career Gibson played right-half and was regarded as one of the best players in that position at that time. He played almost 200 games for Partick before a transfer to Aston Villa for a then-record fee of £7,500. He made 227 appearances for Aston Villa, during which time they were runners-up in the Football League twice ( 1930–31 and 1932–33) but were relegated in his final season with the club, 1935–36.
