Nehru Park, Paravur
Nehru Park or Children's Park, Paravur (also known as ''Paravur Municipal Park'') is a public park situated at Paravur in Kollam Metropolitan Area, India. It is situated very close to Paravur railway station. Nehru Park is one of the main centres of recreational activities in Paravur town. Devarajan Master, most popular musician of Malayalam film industry(born in Paravur), was cremated at this park. A bronze statue of Devarajan Master sculpted by Kanayi Kunhiraman is there in the park. The compositions of Devarajan Master will be played in the park on every evening. Paravur, , (''Paravoor''), is a town and a municipality in the Kollam Metropolitan Area of Kollam district in the Indian state of Kerala. Paravur railway station is the last station in Kollam district which is on the route to Trivandrum while travelling towards South India. Kanayi Kunhiraman
Kanayi Kunhiraman ( ml, കാനായി കുഞ്ഞിരാമന്; born 25 July 1937) is an Indian sculptor, best known for his outsize sculptures such as ''Yakshi'' of Malampuzha Dam Gardens, '' Sagarakanyaka'' at Shankumugham Beach and ''Mukkola Perumal'' trinity in Kochi. He is a protege of K. C. S. Paniker and a former chairman of the Lalit Kala Academy, India's national academy of fine arts. The Government of Kerala awarded him the inaugural Raja Ravi Varma Award in 2005. He is also a recipient of the Thikkurissy Award and the inaugural MS Nanjunda Rao National Award of the Karnataka Chitrakala Parishath. Pozhikkara or Pozhikara is the Western border town of the Paravur municipality in the Kollam district of Kerala state in India. It is located at the South-Western tip of Kollam's coastal area. Puttingal Temple
Puttingal Temple is a Hindu temple in the coastal town of Paravur, India. The temple was founded after the presence of the goddess was experienced on an ant hill with ''Puttu'' being the Malayalam word for ant Hill. The main festival is celebrated on the day of Bharani star in Meenam. Fireworks and other events associated with the festival take place along with other cultural events with various poojas performed. 2016 fire On 10 April 2016, 114 people were killed due to a fireworks mishap at this temple, while over 350 other people were injured. A cracker fell on a shed where the fireworks were stored, setting off an explosion. Permission was not given to the temple by the authorities for the fireworks display and a case was registered.
