Neguinho Da Beija-Flor
Neguinho da Beija-Flor, whose real name is Luiz Feliciano Antonio Marcondes, (born June 29, 1949 in Nova Iguaçu) is a samba singer and composer. He has been the official interpreter of the Beija Flor since 1976. He is the son of a musician. Owning both a powerful voice and great vocal technique, he debuted as lead-singer at the Samba Group Lion of Iguaçu in 1970, transferring to the musical group Beija-Flor (from Nilópolis/RJ), in 1975. There he created the slogan "Just feel the Beija-flor around, folks!". He released his first album in 1980, which was followed by other ones, with hits such as the samba-theme "The Story of the Five Balls of Rio" (Silas de Oliveira / Dona Ivone Lara / Bacalhau), "Aquarela Brasileira (Silas de Oliveira), "Dreaming of King means Lion " (of his own) or samba-calções (slow sambas) like "Nervos de Aço" (Lupicinio Rodrigues). Nova Iguaçu
Nova Iguaçu (, locally: or , ''New Iguaçu'') is a municipality in Rio de Janeiro state in Brazil. Location The city is named after the Iguaçu River that runs through it and empties into Guanabara Bay (not to be confused with the Iguaçu River in Paraná state, which forms the Iguaçu Falls). It is part of the Greater Rio de Janeiro metropolitan area. It was the state's second largest city in population until Mesquita was split off, and now it is the fourth largest behind São Gonçalo, Duque de Caxias and the state capital, Rio de Janeiro. The Grêmio Recreativo Escola de Samba Beija-Flor is a Samba school headquartered in the municipality of Nilópolis, Baixada Fluminense, in the state of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. In total, Beija-Flor has won 14 parades of the Carnaval do Rio de Janeiro; as general champion in 1976, 1977, 1978, 1980, 1983, 1998, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2007, 2008, 2011, 2015 and 2018. It was the overall runner-up and vice champion school in 1979, 1981, 1985, 1986, 1989, 1990, 1999, 2000, 2001, and 2002. With the departure of Joãosinho Trinta after the Carnaval of 1992, the school featured Maria Augusta and the young Milton Cunha as carnival producers. Sandra Cristina Frederico de Sá (born August 27, 1955) is a Brazilian singer and songwriter. Sandra was born in the Pilares neighborhood, in the city of Rio de Janeiro, the daughter of Jurema and Nonô de Sá. Sandra's maternal grandfather, Manoel, was from Cabo Verde. According to a DNA test, Sandra is 96.7% Black African, 2.1% European, and 1.1% Amerindian. Sambadrome Marquês De Sapucaí
The Sambadrome Marquês de Sapucaí is a purpose-built parade area built for the Rio Carnival in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The venue is also known as Passarela Professor Darcy Ribeiro or simply the Sambódromo in Portuguese or Sambadrome in English.
