Nedstryn Church
Nedstryn Church ( no, Nedstryn kyrkje) is a parish church of the Church of Norway in Stryn Municipality in Vestland county, Norway. It is located in the village of Nedstryn, just west of the municipal centre of Stryn (village), Stryn. It is the church for the Nedstryn parish which is part of the Nordfjord prosti (deanery) in the Diocese of Bjørgvin. The white, wooden church was built in a long church design in 1859 by Ludolph Rolfsen using plans drawn up by the architect Hans Linstow. The church seats about 400 people. History The earliest existing historical records of the church date back to the year 1330, but it was not new at that time. The first church was likely a wooden stave church that was probably built during the 13th century. Stryn is a municipality in the county of Vestland, Norway. It is located in the traditional district of Nordfjord. The administrative center of the municipality is the village of Stryn. The municipality is located along the innermost part of the Nordfjorden. Some of the main villages in Stryn include Loen, Innvik, Utvik, Randabygda, Olden, and Flo. Farming, forestry, fruit growing, animal breeding for furs, small manufacturing industries, tourism, and the service trades provide the main occupations. Flo, Norway
Flo is a small village in the municipality of Stryn in Vestland county, Norway. It is located on the northern shore of the lake Oppstrynsvatn, about east of the municipal center of Stryn. Directly south across the lake is the Jostedalsbreen nasjonalparksenter, a visitor's center for the nearby Jostedalsbreen National Park. Flo has become famous as the ancestral home of national and international footballers, all of whom are related: The brothers Kjell Rune Flo, Jostein Flo, Tore André Flo and Jarle Flo, all of whom grew up in nearby Stryn, as well as their cousin Håvard Flo who grew up in Flo. Oppstrynsvatn (also known as ''Oppstrynsvatnet'', ''Strynevatnet'', or ''Strynevatn'') is a lake in the municipality of Stryn in Vestland county, Norway. It is located about east of the village of Stryn (the administrative centre of the municipality). The villages of Flo, Oppstryn, and Erdal are located on the shores of the lake. The lake has an area of and is surrounded by many large mountains and glaciers which feed into the lake. The main outflow of the lake is the river Stryneelva which flows west into the Nordfjorden.
