Ned Kirby (born 1949 in Glanworth, County Cork) is an Irish former sportsperson. He played Gaelic football with his local clubs Glanworth and Grange and was a member of the Cork senior inter-county team from 1970 until 1974. Glanworth GAA
Glanworth GAA is a Gaelic Athletic Association club based in the parish of Glanworth, County Cork, Ireland. The club fields teams in competitions organized by the Cork GAA county board and the Avondhu GAA divisional board. The club plays under the name Glanworth in Gaelic football, and under the name Harbour Rovers in hurling. The club has traditionally been most successful in football. As of 2015, the club played in the Cork Intermediate Football Championship, and in the North Cork Premier Junior Hurling Championship. The GAA Football Under-20 All-Ireland Championship (known for sponsorship reasons as the EirGrid GAA Football Under-20 All-Ireland Championship) is an annual inter-county Gaelic football competition organised by the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA). It is the highest inter-county hurling competition for male players between the ages of 17 and 20 in Ireland. The championship was contested as the All-Ireland Under-21 Championship between 1964 and 2017 before changing to an under-20 age category from 2018. The final, usually held in August, serves as the culmination of a series of games played during the summer months, and the results determine which team receives the Clarke Cup. The All-Ireland Championship had always been played on a straight knockout basis whereby once a team loses they are eliminated from the championship. The 1966 All-Ireland Minor Football Championship was the 35th staging of the All-Ireland Minor Football Championship, the Gaelic Athletic Association's premier inter-county Gaelic football tournament for boys under the age of 18. Derry entered the championship as defending champions, however, they were defeated by Down in the Ulster final. On 25 September 1966, Mayo won the championship following a 1–12 to 1–8 defeat of Down in the All-Ireland final. This was their third All-Ireland title overall and their first title in 13 championship seasons. Munster Minor Football Championship
The Munster Minor Football Championship is an annual Gaelic football competition organised by the Munster Council of the Gaelic Athletic Association since 1928 for the youngest competitors (under-18) in the province of Munster in Ireland. It is currently sponsored by Electric Ireland and therefore officially known as the Electric Ireland Munster GAA Football Minor Championship. The series of games are played during the summer months with the Munster final currently being played on the second Sunday in July. The minor final provides the curtain-raiser to the senior final. The winning team is presented with the Tadhg Crowley Cup. This was presented by Munster Council in 1990 to commemorate Tadhg Crowley, who was elected as Munster Council Treasurer in 1968 and served until his death in December 1989. The 1967 All-Ireland Minor Football Championship was the 36th staging of the All-Ireland Minor Football Championship, the Gaelic Athletic Association's premier inter-county Gaelic football tournament for boys under the age of 18. The 1970 All-Ireland Under-21 Football Championship was the seventh staging of the All-Ireland Under-21 Football Championship since its establishment by the Gaelic Athletic Association in 1964. The championship ran from 5 April to 4 October 1970. Antrim entered the championship as defending champions, however, they were beaten by Derry in the Ulster quarter-final. The All-Ireland final was played on 4 October 1970 at Croke Park in Dublin, between Cork and Fermanagh, in what was their first ever meeting in the final. Cork won the match by 2-11 to 0-09 to claim their first ever All-Ireland U21 title. Roscommon's Mickey Freyne was the championship's top scorer with 1-17. Munster Junior Football Championship
The Munster Junior Football Championship is a gaelic football tournament between the six counties of Munster: Cork, Kerry, Limerick, Tipperary, Clare and Waterford. It is the third-tier county teams playing off in a single-elimination tournament with 2 quarter finals instead of 4 (as of 2014). The cup was first given to the winners in 1957. Kerry have won the most titles, 42 in all. The winner will play against the champions of the other provinces in the All-Ireland Junior Football Championship.
