Neal McDonald
Neal McDonald (born 22 July 1963) is a British sailor who has competed in seven Volvo Ocean Races. Sailing career Born in Brighton, McDonald is a qualified naval architect and a member of the Royal Corps of Naval Constructors. He represented Great Britain at the 1988 Summer Olympics, sailing a Flying Dutchman with Roger Yeoman. They placed sixth in the event. He then won the 1989 International 14 World Championship with his brother, Duncan McDonald before campaigning in the 49er class, becoming European Champion. McDonald first sailed in the Whitbread Round the World Race during the 1993-94 event on ''Fortuna''. The boat broke its mast twice in the first 24 hours of the race, and ended up retiring. At the 1995 Louis Vuitton Cup, McDonald was the mainsail trimmer and tactician for ''Sydney ’95''. The sport of sailing involves a variety of competitive sailing formats that are sanctioned through various sailing federations and yacht clubs. Racing disciplines include matches within a fleet of sailing craft, between a pair thereof or among teams. Additionally, there are specialized competitions that include setting speed records. Racing formats include both closed courses and point-to-point contests; they may be in sheltered waters, coast-wise or on the open ocean. Lisa McDonald (sailor)
Lisa McDonald (born 9 July 1974) is an Irish Fianna Fáil politician, who was a member of Seanad Éireann from 2007 to 2011. She was a county councillor on Wexford County Council from 2004 to 2007. She was an unsuccessful candidate at the 2007 general election for the Wexford constituency. She was nominated by the Taoiseach, Bertie Ahern to Seanad Éireann on 3 August 2007. From County Wexford, McDonald is married, with two children. A solicitor, she studied law at University College Dublin before moving back to Wexford, where she now has her own firm. While in college she was Chair of the Kevin Barry Cumann. She served on the Fianna Fáil National Executive from 1995 to 2004. She was the Fianna Fáil Seanad spokesperson for Equality and Law Reform from 2007 to 2011. Roy Heiner (born 22 November 1960, in Virginia, Free State, South Africa) is a sailor from the Netherlands, who represented his country at the 1988 Summer Olympics in Pusan. Heiner took 7th place in the Finn. In 1992 Summer Olympics, Barcelona Heiner helmed the Dutch Soling. With crew members Peter Burggraaff and Han Bergsma Heiner took 18th place.
