Nea-Nidelvvassdraget
Nea-Nidelvvassdraget is a watercourse in the municipalities of Tydal, Selbu, and Trondheim in Trøndelag county, Norway. The total area of the watershed is and it runs for about from the source in the Sylan mountains to its mouth in Trondheimsfjorden. Trondheim Energiverk has fourteen power stations along the water course which are highly regulated, with a total production (in 2004) of . Development of the area had already begun in 1890 with the development of the Øvre Leirfoss power station. Important rivers in the Nea-Nidelvvassdraget watercourse are the Nidelva, Nea, Rotla, Lødølja, and Tya. Nidelva
Nidelva is a river in Trondheim Municipality in Trøndelag county, Norway. The name of the long river translates to "the River Nid" since the suffix ''elva'' or ''elven'' is the Norwegian language, Norwegian word for "the river". Location The Nidelva starts at the Hyttfossen waterfall which rises from Bjørsjøen, a small lake located just below Selbusjøen, the largest lake in the southern part of Trøndelag County. The Nidelva runs north through Klæbu, then to Tiller, Norway, Tiller, and then through the city of Trondheim before reaching Trondheimsfjord by the island of Brattøra near Trondheim Central Station. Nea River
, , or is an long river which has runs through the municipalities of Tydal and Selbu in Trøndelag county, Norway and Åre Municipality in Jämtland county, Sweden. The river Nea is a part of the Nea-Nidelvvassdraget watershed. Some of the main villages along the river include: Østby, Ås, Aunet, and Gressli in Tydal and Flora, Hyttbakken, Selbu, and Mebonden in Selbu. The river is first named Nean at the eastern end of the artificial lake Sylsjön, which lies in Åre Municipality and Berg Municipality in Sweden. Below the dam, the river flows for , crossing the Swedish-Norwegian border where the name becomes Nea, before entering the lake Nesjøen. Rotla
Rotla is a long river in Trøndelag county, Norway. The river begins at Roltdalstjønna in Meråker municipality, just north of the mountain Fongen. It then runs through west through the Skarvan and Roltdalen National Park. The river ends when it flows into the Nea River near Stokkan in Selbu municipality. Tydal is a municipality in Trøndelag county, Norway. The administrative centre of the municipality is the village of Ås. Other villages include Østby, Gressli, Aunet, and Stugudalen. Nesjøen
Nesjøen (sometimes just ''Nesjø'') is an artificial lake (reservoir) in the municipality of Tydal in Trøndelag county, Norway. The lake is part of the Nea-Nidelv watershed which lies on the western part of the Sylan mountain range. The lake lies about southeast of the municipal center of Ås and north of the village of Stugudalen. The lake is good for trout fishing. History Trondheim Energiverk was given the contract for hydroelectric power generation in 1968 and they built and completed a dam in 1971. The dam was built on the Nea River and would flood the bogs to the east and north and would create a lake that would eventually merge with the nearby lake Esandsjøen. Klæbu
Klæbu is a former municipality in Trøndelag county, Norway. It existed from 1838 until its dissolution in 2020 when it was incorporated into the neighboring Trondheim Municipality. It was located in the southern part of the Trondheim Region, about south of the city of Trondheim. The administrative center was the village of Klæbu. The other major village in Klæbu municipality was Tanem. Even though agriculture has traditionally been the main industry for Klæbu, the municipality most recently functioned more as a commuter town of Trondheim, where many of Klæbu's inhabitants work or attend school.
