Nazrul Institute
The Nazrul Institute is Bangladesh's national institute, established in February 1985. Its headquarters are located in Kabi Bhaban in Dhanmondi, Dhaka, Bangladesh. It fulfills a number of roles; promoting the literary work of the poet Kazi Nazrul Islam, recognising excellence in literature research by conferring awards, and public engagement. Structure and governance The institute is headed by an executive director who has a trustee board to advise them. The first executive director of the institute was Mohammad Mahfuzullah and the first chairman of the trustee board was Mohammad Nasiruddin. Mohammad Nasiruddin
Mohammad Nasiruddin (20 November 1888 – 21 May 1994) was a Bangladeshi journalist and progressive thinker. He became an important reformer of Muslim Bengal in early 20th century and provided platform for female writers. He received Ekushey Padak in 1977 and Independence Day Award in 1984 from the Government of Bangladesh. Career Nasiruddin published an illustrated literary magazine called '' Saogat'' on 2 December 1918. But due to financial constraints, its publication was kept suspended in 1922. Its publication was resumed in 1926 and since then it continued uninterruptedly until 1947. In 1926, he organized the ''Saogat Sahitya Majlis''. He had published another illustrated weekly called ''Begum'' in 1946. After the India partition in 1947, he migrated to Dhaka, East Bengal, wherefrom the ''Saogat'' began to appear again regularly since 1954. Crest (heraldry)
A crest is a component of a heraldic display, consisting of the device borne on top of the helm. Shabnam Mustari is a Bangladeshi Nazrul Geeti singer. She was awarded Ekushey Padak in 1997 and Nazrul Award in 2014 by the Government of Bangladesh. Dhanmondi ( bn, ধানমন্ডি) is a residential area in Dhaka, Bangladesh, known for its central location, cultural vibrancy and being home to the country's founder, Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. The origins of Dhanmondi can be traced back to the late 1950s, when the Government of East Pakistan developed it as a centrally planned and residential area to house the city's top bureaucrats.
