Nayarit
Nayarit (), officially the Free and Sovereign State of Nayarit ( es, Estado Libre y Soberano de Nayarit), is one of the 31 states that, along with Mexico City, comprise the Federal Entities of Mexico. It is divided in 20 municipalities and its capital city is Tepic. It is bordered by the states of Sinaloa to the northwest, Durango to the north, Zacatecas to the northeast and Jalisco to the south. To the west, Nayarit has a significant share of coastline on the Pacific Ocean, including the islands of Marías and Marietas. The beaches of San Blas and the so-called " Riviera Nayarit" are popular with tourists. Besides tourism, the economy of the state is based mainly on agriculture and fishing. It is also one of two states where the tarantula species '' Brachypelma klaasi'' is found, the other being Jalisco. Municipalities Of Nayarit
Nayarit is a state in West Mexico, divided into twenty municipalities. According to the 2020 Mexican Census, it is the fourth least populated state with inhabitants and the 23rd largest by land area spanning . Municipalities in Nayarit are administratively autonomous of the state according to the 115th article of the 1917 Constitution of Mexico. Every three years, citizens elect a municipal president (Spanish: ''presidente municipal'') by a plurality voting system who heads a concurrently elected municipal council (''ayuntamiento'') responsible for providing all the public services for their constituents. The municipal council consists of a variable number of trustees and councillors (''regidores y síndicos''). Miguel Ángel Navarro Quintero
Miguel Ángel Navarro Quintero (born 11 January 1951) is a Mexican physician and politician affiliated with the National Regeneration Movement (Morena). He served as a senator in the LXIV Legislature of the Mexican Congress from the state of Nayarit, his second term as senator after being elected to the LVIII and LIX Legislatures (2000-2006). He was also a federal deputy in the LVII and LX Legislatures and a two-time gubernatorial candidate in Nayarit. He is the current Governor of Nayarit. Life Navarro attended the School of Medicine of the Instituto Politécnico Nacional and graduated in 1976 as a surgeon. That same year, he joined the Institutional Revolutionary Party and the National Confederation of Popular Organizations (CNOP). Tepic
Tepic () is the capital and largest city of the western Mexican state of Nayarit, as well as the seat of the Tepic Municipality. Located in the central part of the state, it stands at an altitude of above sea level, on the banks of the Río Mololoa and the Río Tepic, approximately north-west of Guadalajara, Jalisco. Nearby are the extinct Sangangüey volcano and its crater lake. Tepic is the primary urban center of this rich agricultural region; major crops include sugarcane, tobacco and citrus fruits. El Nayar
El Nayar is a municipality in the Mexican state of Nayarit. The population was 30,551 in 2005 in a total area of 5,100 km². The municipal seat of Jesús María had a population of 1,520 in 2005. El Nayar is the home of the Huichol, Cora, and the Tepehuán Indians. El Nayar is the largest municipality by land area in the state. Its area makes up 18.46% of the surface of the state. It is sparsely populated. The name of the municipality is in honor of the tribal chief Cora Naye, Nayar, or Nayarit, caudillo, legislator, and king; defender of his tribe who successfully maintained the Huacica or Xécora kingdom. Nayarit was named leader of the Cora around the year 1500. During his reign, he was able to resist the Spanish incursions into the mountains and preserve his kingdom.
