Ernst Wilhelm Nay
Ernst Wilhelm Nay (June 11, 1902 – April 8, 1968) was a German painter and graphic designer of classical modernism. He is considered one of the most important painters of German post-war art. Biography Nay came from a Berlin civil servant's family. He was born the second son of six children. His father Johannes Nay fell in 1914 as a captain in Belgium. Nay completed his humanistic education with the Abitur at the provincial school Pforta in Thuringia in 1921. During this time he made his first painting attempts. He began a bookshop apprenticeship in the Berlin bookstore Gsellius, which he broke off after a year. After that, he supported himself with odd jobs and began to paint self-portraits and landscapes. With three of his autodidactically painted pictures, he presented himself in 1924 to Karl Hofer at the College of Fine Arts in Berlin. Nay Rein Kyaw
Nay Rein Kyaw ( my, နေရိန်ကျော်, ; born 2 October 1970) is a Burmese activist and former political prisoner. He currently working as a broadcaster for Radio Free Asia since January 2008. Career As a young student, he had participated in the 8888 Uprising. Later, he joined the All Burma Federation of Student Unions (HQ) and worked for the organization committee. In April 1992, he released an ABFSU statement against the so-called National Convention and in June 1992, he was arrested, as a result. Rein Kyaw was then sentenced to ten years' imprisonment. He had been arrested twice before his sentencing in 1992. He was incarcerated in the notorious prisons of Insein and Myingyan. He was later released in 2000 after serving time in prison.
