''Navagraham'' () is a 1970 Indian Tamil-language comedy drama film written and directed by K. Balachander. The film stars Nagesh, Srikanth, R. Muthuraman and Lakshmi, with Ragini, Sivakumar, Rama Prabha, Y. G. Mahendran (his film debut), V. Gopalakrishnan and G. Sakunthala in supporting roles. It was released on 3 September 1970. Plot Nine people living in a household have many disagreements and quarrels among themselves due to their personality differences. How Baalu mediates among them is the story. Srikanth (Tamil Actor, Born 1940)
Srikanth (19 March 1940 – 12 October 2021) was an Indian actor who has performed in around 200 Tamil films since his debut in 1965. He is also referred to as Venniradai Srikanth. He has played the lead hero in around 50 films between 1965 and 1979 and has also played supporting roles in films with actors Sivaji Ganesan, Muthuraman, Ravichandran and Jaishankar in the lead roles. In the late seventies to early nineties, he appeared as a villain opposite actors including Sivakumar, Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan. Film career (1965–2009) Srikanth was employed in the American Consulate before his career in the film industry. Srikanth was given his break as the lead hero by C. V. Lakshmi (actress)
Mahalakshmi (born 13 December 1952), known professionally as Lakshmi, is an Indian actress known for her works primarily in the southern film industry (distributing her acting career in almost each Dravidian language equally), along with some Hindi films. She made her film debut through a Tamil film '' Sri Valli'' in 1961. Her debut as an actress happened with the Tamil film '' Jeevanaamsam'' in 1968. In the same year, she also debuted in Kannada and Telugu films with ''Goa Dalli CID 999'' and '' Bandhavyalu'', respectively. In 1974, her debut Malayalam film, '' Chattakari'' went on to become a blockbuster throughout India. Ragini (actress)
Ragini (27 March 1937 – 30 December 1976) was an Indian actress and dancer. She was the youngest of the Travancore Sisters; Lalitha, Padmini and Ragini. She started her acting career in the mid-1950s along with her sister Padmini and has acted in movies of different Indian languages, including Malayalam, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu. She also starred opposite Shammi Kapoor in film ''Mujrim'' (1958). She played the role of Parvati opposite Trilok Kapoor who played Shiva in the 1962 film Shiv Parvati. The era of dance in Hindi cinema is considered to have begun with the entrance of Ragini and other South Indian actresses. Ragini died of breast cancer in 1976. She had acted in many dramas also. Nagesh (born Cheyur Krishnarao Nageshwaran; (27 September 1933 – 31 January 2009) was an Indian actor, mostly remembered for his roles as a comedian in Tamil films during the 1960s. Nagesh was born in Dharapuram. He acted in over 1,000 films from 1958 to 2008, performing in a variety of roles as comedian, lead roles, supporting actor and antagonist. He has also acted in Telugu, Malayalam, Hindi and Kannada films. Nagesh's style of comedy was largely inspired by Hollywood actor Jerry Lewis. Similarities between Nagesh and Lewis earned Nagesh the sobriquet the "Jerry Lewis of India". He was also nicknamed as the King of Comedy due to his impeccable comedy timing and body language. Srinivasan Sundarrajan (17 March 1925 – 28 February 2003), popularly known as Major Sundarrajan, was an Indian actor and director who performed predominantly in Tamil language films and plays. He was well known for his sophisticated and urbane way of delivering dialogues, often mixing English and Tamil sentences. Early life Sundarrajan was born on 17 March 1925 in a middle-class Brahmin family in Periyakulam, Madurai. His father Srinivasa Iyengar was a stage actor. Sundarrajan's first stint with acting came when he was in the sixth grade; at this point he was cast in a Hindi play of his school. He went on to act in numerous school and college plays. After graduating with a degree in science, Sundarrajan went to Madras (now Chennai), where his uncle Veeraraghavan was an amateur actor in the Triplicane Fine Arts theatre troupe.
